Today, one of my cows died. It was so strange, even now, I cannot understand why did it suddenly kick the bucket.
The cow was a star cow, and it recently just became old enough to get pregnant. However I already have a cow pregnant, so I wanted to wait till it gives birth before giving this one the miracle potion.
Unlike most Harvest Moon games, the game finds some way to let you know an animal is Ill. But in this game, there is no way to tell unless you speak to the animals. I avoid doing that to save time. So there was no way for me to see that it was ill in the first place.
I checked the condition of my other animals, and they are perfectly fine, and extremely happy. I didn't treat the star cow any differently, and it died.
Anyone know what may have happened?

Hmmmm, well I always kept my cows in the barn, and for some weird reason the cows would eat out of one bin that they liked. One bin I was putting food in wasn't getting chowed down, and one cows was getting sick from not getting her food. So I don't know what is causing your cow to get sick.

I seem to have been able to answer my own question. I kept an eye on my animals, and I noticed my Goat got sick as well. There was a pattern. After curing my goat (I bought 99 medicine), I decided to give it a bath. Just as I expected, it was sick from being dirty too long. Some of the animals are hard to tell if they are clean or not. The Goat, sheep, and some cows are really tough to tell if they need cleaning. The Star Cow that died never got cleaned since I had her, so I can assume that was it's cause of death.
