I've giving this some thought lately. I have a good imagination and I could make up original stories using my own characters, so why do I write fanfictions? I guess its because I think that Harvest Moon has more stories to tell than what we see in the game. I get to thinking about why somebody behaves a certain way, or wonder what it would be like if so-and-so did this. Next thing I know, I have an idea for a new story. I'm curious to know why everyone else writes fanfics.

Because... I don't have an original thought in my head.

I often can't resist using my own original elements in my fanfictions. Like my very first HM fic (up now for all who want to read) Red Moon. The killers are characters from an original storyof mine called Stripes of Death, but are very loosely based on a mixture of bosses from video games. I'm very easily inspired ^_^
I guess I like telling stories about someone else's character for fun, really.

I like writing stories. I may not be very good at it but I enjoy reading stories and I thought that it would be cool to make one of my own. I made one and I thought it was great so I make fanfictions in my (spare) time

Really... I just like seeing everyone's happy expression when my new chapter comes out. And leading everyone on with false story leads.

I don't write them. ..or at least I didn't. before soldier/FoMT, I wrote nothing that wasn't original. then I saw the fanfics topic and thought: what the hey. I'm more of a poetry writer, but those don't often see the light of day. I'm not sure if I'm better writing poems or stories. I'm not sure if I'm any good at all. I just happen to find that writing amuses me and helps get rid of pent up emotion and stuff.

yeah, pretty amusing. characters already there. themes already there. pick one and twist it and voila. instant fanfic.

Me, I tried to write fanfics, but before that thing at Soldier, I could never gather an audience, so I grew bored every time I began.
Now, I live for moments like the title of my last chapter, "The Death of Mary". The absolute comedy of everyone panicking, then getting pissed off at me for scaring them like that.

That's true! You don't want yourself to be the only one viewing it, now do you? That'd be sad! I haven't gone around to finishing reading your fanfiction yet, Beelze!

I write my fanfictions because I enjoy it. I love having an audience and I love hearing suggestions on how to make my story better. I just love writing!!! ;D
