This is something I've been considering and a few other members mentioned this as well, so I am implementing a new rule for avatars and sigs: Avatars must be 60KB or less. Sigs must be 100KB or less. This is the combined file-size of ALL sig images. The sizes still stand at 550 pixels wide and 400pixles tall. Members have one week to change their images, after which the rule goes into full effect. If your avatar or sig exceeds either the size or file-size limit it will be removed. You will recieve a PM explaining why. I will not be resizing anyone's images for them, so don't ask.  Also, out of consideration for those with slower connections, when posting photos or artwork, please resize the image so that it has a reasonable filesize. We'll say about 250KB for art and stuff. If it's larger than that, you must post a link to the image. |

No, you're okay. Technically, your a bit over 100kb, but it's not much. I'm not gonna hunt people down and kill them for going over by a little bit

What?! That limit is rather small!  Even my ham avatar, which is just basic animation is over 100KB! And, 250 KB for art is also a very small size. <_< |

130kb is HUGE for an avatar DD >_>; Mine is also basic animation, and is just 32kb in size. 100 may seem small but sigs aren't supposed to be ginnormous anyways. And like Ember said, if you can't get your art under 250, just post the link.  |

Programs like GIMP, Paintshop Pro and Photoshop all have options to adjust the "quality" of your image. You can lower the filesize dramatically, without really affectng the way your image looks

This rule goes into full effect on Wednesday. If you haven't changed your avatars and sigs yet. you'll need to do so by then.
