I've actually been playing several as of late. I'm playing Rune Factory 3 at this moment, but have been replaying Phantasy Star IV on the Genesis for a stream I'm part of, going through a naked run in Castlevania:Symphony of the Night on PS1, started Nier since my roommate borrowed it from someone, and have been trying to get better at Guilty Gear X.
I'm incredibly pleased that they fixed the flaws from the original Rune Factory, and improved upon everything so much. The townspeople also have much more personality, and are much warmer. The difficulty has been upped as well I see, though to be honest I am in hard mode, and using a spear. One of my primary complaints about the original was that it was too easy, but I'm very pleased with it so far. The novelty of turning into a sheep and going all Master Killer on monsters has yet to run out for me. Raven is HNNNGH incarnate.
Phantasy Star IV is one of my favorite JRPGs of all time, and has aged very well for being a Genesis game. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. The music is fantastic, the characters are very likable, the story is well-written and presented in a unique way.
I love Castlevania, and while I'm more a fan of the classic style the Metroidvania games also appeal to me. My only complaint is that they tend to be far too easy, even when handicapping yourself like I am. To date, my favorite Metroidvania is Order of Ecclesia on DS. Nier is a lot of fun as well, and Cavia really improved after the original Drakengard. There's a lot of elements from Drakengard present in Nier, but much more polished and refined than they were before. Cavia also does a fantastic job with their writing, and were never afraid to touch on taboo topics to spice up their games. The incestuous undertones, and giant flying cannibalistic demon babies from Drakengard are a fine example of this. I just hate that god awful fishing mini-game. It's a shame Squeenix shut Cavia down after Nier. I'm hoping they go and do what Clover did when Capcom closed their doors, and just go found another studio.
As for Guilty Gear, I've been practicing with Jam, and am really getting used to her style. I tend to pick the speedier characters in fighting games, and adopt hit and run tactics to wear down my opponents. But Jam seems to have a hefty helping of both speed and power, she's just a bit difficult to use effectively.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology.
Still need to pick up Rune Factory 3, but I'm almost tempted to wait since I've had almost no time to play games over the past few months. I have a couple that are still in the plastic wrap that I bought because they're really hard to find.

I picked up Grand Bazaar for Christmas, but I'm collecting green stars in Super Mario Galaxy 2 instead. Weird, huh?
