It's all awesome, I agree!(sorry moko...)
I got a Senret to be my "utility" or HM pokemon, I'll probably use Spearow till I get Lugia for flying. I've also decided to use a Geodude instead of Rocky this time.
BTW, my hubbie likes this game so much, he says it will be the last Pokemon game he buys. Because he said it CAN'T get better!

I can think of ONE way it can get better: return to the old PC interface. Not the original (that one was even worse that what HG/SS has), I'm talking about the one introduced in R/S, which was used in every game since then until now. There was nothing wrong with it, but Nintendo decided to "improve" it all the same. Now it takes a lot longer to organize boxes than it used to (it's hard to explain, you'll just have to compare the two to see for yourself). It may not be such a big deal to you if you aren't a completist, or just aren't into organizing your boxes. But I AM a completist, and arranging the pokemon in the boxes in numerical order (Box 1: 1-30, Box 2: 31-60, etc.) helps me keep track of my collections. I only pray they will return to the old interface for the 5th generation. This new one SUCKS.

No, I know what you're saying, I DO find this one far more than a little annoying....

From the other thread:
It's actually really easy to do, but you can't shake it up and down like with those old Digivices. If you hold the Pokéwalker sideways (with the buttons either to the left or the right) between your thumb and index finger you can just rotate your wrist or use your fingers to tilt it and it should start counting after a few seconds.

OK, I shouldn't do this but...
Put it on an old, turnstyle record player(vinyls!) taping it to an old record you don't have a use for anymore. It will count the steps that way as well.

i would just like to take this moment to say that the fact that they made two separate guides for the johto and kanto regions is BULLsh*t. i wasted my f***ing money on half a guide. plus, the kanto one's not even coming out until another month either.
anyway, started the game today (picked totodile, of course). didn't get very far, though, cuz of work (and Devil Survivor). hopefully i'll be able to play some more this saturday.

They're fun to look at, but I never buy guides. They're expensive.
Just use Gamefaqs if you need help, Mokes.

A few are worth it, but most aren't, it's true.

I liked the Pokédex one for D/P, but splitting the HG/SS guide in two? Really?
As if Pokemon doesn't make enough money for Nintendo already...

Since I can't be online as much as I'd like, (see the bulletin board), I've been playing more than i expected. I'm having a lot of fun. I really like how some of the Crystal storyline into the remakes.

eh, buying the guides is kind of a tradition for me. i've been doing it ever since my blue version. more of a habit than anything else. i normally don't buy guides for games. nowadays the internet can answer all your questions.

sorry for the double-post, but this is kinda important (at least to my brother).
my brother registered his pokewalker on his first file on heart gold, but then decided to start over (cuz honestly, his cyndaquil was horribly weak). after he started his new game, his pokewalker was still registered to his old file. now, i read when you start a new game, it deletes both, so was he supposed to have the pokewalker connected to his ds when he deleted his file? and if he was, is there any other way to get a new file on the pokewalker or is it stuck there forever?
seriously, i need some help here; my brother's been freaking out all morning.

I'm not 100% positive if this will work, but the game manual has instructions for resetting the pokewalker. That might do the trick
Did anyone chose Chikorita as their starter? I need one, but since I haven't even seen it, I can't seek it out on the GTS >.<

I was really thinking about getting this one. But my brother's DS's touch screen is broken, so I don't wanna get it until he has a working DS.
But I got Maverick Hunter X, which is fun, too!
