Name: Celia Dawn
Age: Early 20s
Gender: Female
Occupation: Professor of Illusion at The Imperial Library of Archon
Appearance:
Black hair on a very bony face. Eyes grey with just a tinge of violet. Bloodlessly pale complexion, lithe build. Stands about 5'3" in bare feet. Favorite colors violet, lilac, and grey, and wardrobe coordinates accordingly. Prefers loose trousers and calf-high walking boots with raised heels. Profession includes grey robe as status symbol. Celia wears hers open.
Background:
Celia Dawn was found on the steps of an orphanage in her hometown of Archon City. Her name marks her as the third foundling that month, with dawn being when she was picked up.
By the time she was three, it was clear that Celia was a magical prodigy. Caretakers were known to have nightmares if they'd angered her, and some were known to suffer migraines when she was in the middle of a tantrum. Her would-be playmates were often less fortunate. Bullies were found bruised and bloodied, with no ordinary marks of a beating on them. Other children were afraid of her, claiming that "the fairies" protected her. It took less than a month of this activity before a certified mage from the academy collected her, and her life as an illusionist began.
In school, Celia excelled in illusion magic, showing an aptitude that put her in the top percentile of her peers, and a creative streak that would mark her particular style throughout her life. She befriended a small handful of her classmates (in particular, a pair of introverted boys with even more potential than she had), but ultimately remained relatively aloof. Her work scared people, and she was often too absorbed in it to look at social opportunities as anything but a distraction.
Celia was offered a professorship immediately after she earned her certificate, and her scholastic career has been relatively stable ever since.
Personality:
Celia comes off as very absent-minded and whimsical and first glance. That said, her near-constant smile and bouncy demeanor hide a razor-sharp intellect and an extremely dark imagination. No one who has crossed Celia has ever forgotten why this is a bad idea.
However, Celia herself is mostly as she seems: a good-hearted, gentle-natured spirit who doesn't always remember that eviscerating someone with her mind is something of a societal faux pas. Her friends love her, but she pretty much terrifies anyone else.
