Is playing the flute that uncommon?

For some reason, it is really hard to find anime flute music online - it's all piano. There is some, but mostly not for flute. I play the flute, although I want to learn piano and someday will.
I have to try really hard to find music my level, because I've been playing for almost 7 years. ^_^'

Piano is known probably as the most refined of all instruments. Honestly, I think whether ANIMES have flute scores available is a rather poor marker as to how common flute playing is. For example, you might be right and it is uncommon in the U.S. or Japan, but here in Mexico it's kind of standard to teach kids in elementry school how to play... I wonder if I can still play... Haven't played in FOREVER. =/
Kinda miss it. =P Then again, I enjoy messing around with my piano a tad more. =]

I think I should learn to transcribe... and/or play the piano. <_<; I'm thinking "and" though.

A flute is a common instrument. I used to play the oboe, now THAT is uncommon. I'm more or less a Trumpet player now. 6 years experience as lead Jazz Band trumpet player.

French horn I think is pretty rare too... There's only one person in my entire school band that plays french horn. <_<;
