Okay, here is the next chapter. It isn't that good, because I was trying to hurry. I did my best. ^_^

Chapter Seventeen: Letter

"So she killed your father because he was cheating on her?" Cliff asked as we sat at the table.

"Yeah. I can't believe my mother would do such a thing." I said, shaking my head. "She didn't even think about what would happen to me." I rested my head on my hand and sighed. Cliff got up and went to get the mail. He came back in with 5 things.

"Bills, bills, Victoria's Secret Catalog, bills, and a letter for you." he handed me the catalog and letter. I opened the catalog and started circling everything I wanted with a pen. Cliff wouldn't stop staring at the underwear though, so I shut it and threw it away. I opened the letter.

Mel,

It's sure been a while since I have seen you. The last time you saw me you said, "No matter what happens I will always love you." I am coming tomorrow to see you, and hopefully be together again like old times. I love you, and I will see you tomorrow!

Richard

My eyes nearly popped out of my head and I almost fell on the floor from a heart attack. Cliff looked over in alarm as I threw the letter down on the floor.

"No, you can't!" I said out loud. Cliff tilted his head and asked, "What are you talking about?"

"N-nothing." I stammered. There was then a knock on the door and I went over to answer it. I slowly opened it and looked out to see Karen standing there. I let her come in and I made Cliff go out so we could talk alone.

"Karen, I don't know what to do!" I said. Tears started to come to my eyes. "My boyfriend from 3 years ago is coming to see me tomorrow, but I love Cliff!" Karen looked surprised and said, "What? Are you serious?"

I paced across the room in thought. "I should have listened to my mother. I should have never went out with him, I should have never told him that I loved him." Karen got up and embraced me in a tight hug as I started to cry. "Karen I got pregnant from him when I was 14. God, what have I done?"

"You did what?" she asked in surprise. "You were pregnant? Does he have the kid?" I started to cry harder.

"The baby died." I sobbed. "Mother warned me." Cliff walked in and looked over, feeling bad to walk in when I told him not to. He came over and put had hand on my cheek once he noticed I was crying.

"It's okay, Mel." he said soothingly. There was then another knock on the door, and Cliff went to open it. He let someone come in the house, and I looked over only to see Richard.

"I got here early!" he told me, setting his bags over near my bed. "What's wrong Sweetie?" he came over and planted a kiss on my cheek. Cliff looked really angry but just stood there with his arms crossed. Karen looked panicked, and I couldn't help but cry more. This would certainly ruin my life.

"And who do you think you are, walking in here and kissing my girlfriend?" Cliff snarled, stepping over to Richard. They both glared at each other and Richard replied, "Your girlfriend? She loves me. She told me that 3 years ago!"

"Wow, 3 years ago, eh?" Cliff said. He looked over at me with some hurt on his face, and then looked back over at Richard. "Well she told me she loved me a couple days ago, so ha! I win!" Richard flushed red in anger, and looked over at me.

"You said you would always love me." he said. "I thought we had something special! We would have had a child, don't you even care?"

"I don't care what we could have had, Richard." I said, walking over to Cliff. "I care what we have now. And that is nothing. Richard, even if I said I would love you forever, things change! I love Cliff more than words can describe. Can't you be happy for me?"

He shook his head. "No, I can't. You did something terrible to me. You broke my heart."

"Oh, I did something terrible to you?" I screamed. "Did you ever think about me once, when I was pregnant with our child? You're the one that made me pregnant and you're the one that killed the baby!" I screamed. "The day you pushed me onto the ground, I knew the baby would be gone after that! I knew! God, you don't know how much you ripped my life apart, and now your blaming me?"

Cliff looked very hurt when he found out I used to be pregnant with Richards child. I went over to Richard and slapped him, and said, "Get out of my house, and my life. I will never love you, and I never really did. It was all just one big lie I told you!" He didn't argue, he just walked out, and left the three of us standing in the room.

Okay...right now I'm working on Living In A Fairy Tale, but I will get more for this one posted soon.

Chapter Eighteen: Hurricane

"It's okay Melody!" Karen said. I fell to my knees crying non-stop. "It's okay, Richard is gone now." She came over and knelt beside me. I could hear Cliff slam the door as he walked out of the house.

"He just had to!" I cried. "Richard just had to come and make things worse! Now Cliff hates me..."

"No! No, he doesn't hate you, Mel!" Karen said trying to comfort me. "He just needs some time to cool off. Thats all." I shook my head and got off the floor. I fled from the house, and stumbled up to the cave near the Goddess Pond. I entered and sat down on a rock inside. Someone soon followed me inside and sat beside me. It turned out to be Gray.

"I heard screaming coming from your house, and then saw a guy walk out." he said. "I followed you up here when you ran. Are you okay?"

"Go away!" I yelled at him. "You can't help me this time, Gray. No one can help me now!" I sobbed into my hands, but Gray didn't leave me.

"What's wrong?" he demanded an answer.

"Cliff hates me. My boyfriend from 3 years ago came to visit me." I started. "When I was 14, I got pregnant from him. I never had the baby though, because it died. Once my parents were gone, the orphanage owner came to take me away, and the last thing I told Richard was, 'No matter what happens I will always love you.' But things change!" Gray patted me on the back.

"It's okay now though, he's gone." he said soothingly. "It's going to be okay."

"No, it isn't Gray." I shot back. "Cliff still hates me. But, I love him more than words could possibly decribe. I would do anything for him, anything."

"I know, you risked your life for his when Duke tried to shoot him." he replied. "If Cliff loves you that much, he will come looking for you, and he will forgive you about the past." And with that Gray got up and left the cave.

I sat there crying for a little while. Once I finally stopped, I just sat there.

"Why me?" I wondered out loud. "Why me? God, why did you do this to me?" I heard a crash outside and popped my head out of the cave. There was a flash of lightening and then another crash. The wind was picking up, and it was starting to rain. "Just my luck." I mumbled. I pulled my head back inside and sighed.

After a while rain was coming down in sheets and the wind was howling. Then I heard someone faintly call, "Melody!" I ran back to the entrance of the cave and looked out. I couldn't see much past the sheets of rain, but then I heard it again. "Melody! Oh Melody, where are you?" I recognized the voice immediatly and stumbled out of the cave.

"Cliff!" I called back. "Cliff where are you?" I tried to see through the rain, but it was impossible. I tried to walk against the wind, but it was really hard. "Cliff!" I cried. He was out there somewhere, looking for me. The wind knocked me over and I slammed into something, knocking it over also. I scrambled to my feet, and looked down. I could faintly make out Cliff's figure and I grabbed his arm and pulled him up.

"Melody..." he sighed in relief. He put his arm around my waist, and we tried to make our way through the rain and then wind. There was another loud crash and I looked behind us. I could faintly see something falling towards us. More like towards, Cliff.

"Watch out!" I screamed. I pushed him over and fell myself in the process.

"Melody!" he cried. A tree fell on top of me and a pain shot through my whole body. "Melody, Oh my God, Melody!" Cliff came to my side and looked down at me with tears streaming down his face.

Lol, you will have to wait and see. I love making cliffhangers in my stories! ^_^
