Chapter 49

I stayed at the Clinic that night, because the Doctor thought it would be best. I silently agreed. I really wanted Jack to stay, but he wasn't allowed overnight. Elli promised she'd have him come when I had the baby. Elli is so sweet. I can't believe I thought she would steal Jack.

I slept very restlessly through the night. Every once in a while I even screamed. I must have slept in late, because the Doc was taking notes and Elli was already helping Jeff with his medicine. I saw the clock read 1:05 P.M. Jack was still not here.

At 2:30, I felt very, very sick. I called weakly, and Elli got the Doctor. He said that I was ready. He also gave me a few little pills which he said were supposed to make the pain go away. I'm so glad he did!

Thank the Harvest Goddess Tim gave me those pills! At 2:13 I gave birth to a small baby girl. She had brown wisps of hair and big brown eyes. I was scared, but very exited. My first baby! And it was a girl, too! That had always been my dream.

At 2:21 Jack burst in the door. He saw the baby I ha clutched in my arms, and he seemed relieved. My smile faded. Oh yeah. I had triplets, and didn't have the best chance of surviving. Then I let out another scream. I think the second one was coming! A few seconds later I gave birth to a little boy. He had firey dark red hair and brown eyes. I was scared when he came out because he didn't cry or scream loudly like my girl did. His little eyes were closed, and I thought he was dead! But, his eyes popped open and he began sobbing. I was so relieved.

That day was the happiest, yet the saddest day of my life. I had two kids, a boy and a girl. I did have a third safely, a little girl. She had red hair and brown eyes and fair skin, like me. The sad thing was, she was having trouble breathing. The Doctor and Elli tried thir hardest to help, but she died in my arms, still clutching to my finger. I cried for hours. I'll never get over that. We had a funeral, and many people came.
It was then that I decided to call her Tori.
