Chapter 10
Author's Note~ I've been really busy working on my fanfic for fanfiction.net so I haven't had time for this one. But now since school's out I'll be working harder!

As I walked home, I thought of how starnge today was. It was almost noon, and already so many things had happened. Karen was going with Jack, and poor Rick is left by himself. Cliff broke up with Ann for some unknown reason. And... I think I might be falling in love with Carter.

"Popuri! Where have you been?" Lillia scolded me gently when I arrived home.
"Where..." I trailed off in a daze. Then I realized what had happened. The whole story with Jack and Karen poured out, with me sobbing halfway through it. When I finished I rested my head on my mother's shoulder and sobbed. I felt other tears on my face, but they were not mine. It soon hit me.
Lillia was crying for me.

That whole while I wondered where Rick was and why he hadn't barged in. But, a part of me knew he wouldn't, and that thought almost made me cry again. Everyone in my family still cared for me, even after I had made the hugest mistake in the world.

After brunch (since we ate so late) I decided to go see Ann and comfort her some more. I knew now how hard it is to lose something you thought loved you.
"Ann?" I called when I walked through the door.
"Ann is in the back room," Doug told me solemnly. I could see in his eyes that he was worried.
"Thank you," I said, and rushed into the back room.
I heard sniffles, and the sound of someone blowing thier nose. Although I knew it was Ann, it surprised me how much she cared. Ann was the one who told me that she didn't need a guy. She had always been such a tomboy, so it scared me a little that Cliff leaving her was so painful.
"Ann?" I called softly as I walked in her bedroom door.
Ann looked up from her pillow and sniffled a little. "Oh, hi Popuri," she said in a monotone voice. That worried me. Ann was always so happy and cheerful, so seeing (and hearing) her like this was frightening.
"Have you heard anything new?" I asked gently as I sat on her bed.
She nodded, her eyes watery. "Yes. Manna told me he is in love with," sniffle, "Aja." She blew her nose again and curled back under the covers. Suddenly, she burst into tears. "Its... not fair!" she wailed. "He hardly knows her at all, and I've known him since he came here!"
I patted her head sympathetically. "Shh... its okay," I assured her.
"No its not!" she sobbed. "All this time I thought he loved me. He was really covering up and working at the Winery because he wanted to get closer to Aja! Now that he knows for sure she's not coming back, he's leaving to find her!"
As I listened to her, I realized that she was like Rick and I. We had both thought someone oved us, only to find out that hard way that they didn't.
And that's when I thought of a plan...

Chapter 11
Author's Note~ I have a few things to say. One, thank-you for all the support. Without support I'd just leave and probably never write another fanfic. Secondly, I'm thinking of turing either this story or 'Why Me' into a fanfic on fanfiction.net after I'm done with 'Where I Belong'.
All in all, thanks to everyone! I feel like a famous writer xD

Ann seemed to notice the change. "Uh... Poppy? You all right?" she asked in uncertainty.
I nodded, and jumped up. "Hey Ann, I just remembered I have to help Rick feed the chickens. I'll be back soon!" I turned to leave, but stopped at the doorway. "I have a surprise for you." I whispered before grinning and dashing out.
Good, I thought. Everything seems to be going fine so far. Now... for the 'surprise'.

"Popuri, you're home so early!" Lillia exclaimed when I arrived breathless at the door.
"Well... I'm leaving again... in a minute," I gasped through deep breaths. "First I need to talk to Rick. Where is he?"
"In the coop, dear. Why?" she asked.
"He has something that might help me," I told her, then hurried away before she could ask any more questions.

"Rick!" I shouted as I opened the Chicken Coop door. He had his back turned, but looked at me quizzically when he heard me.
"Uh... Popuri...?" he asked, not sure what to say. I ran over and whispered something in his ear. He looked at me skeptically. "Popuri, this is the craziest plan I've heard," Rick told me with a frown.
"Please, Rick. This is so important!" I begged. "You don't know how it will turn out. It might make everything better, you never know."
He sighed before answering, "Fine." I squealed happily and caught him in a tight embrace.

"I still can't believe I let you talk me into this," Rick grumpily told me. "Why do I have to bring a Spa-Boiled Egg? Doesn't she like flowers, like any other normal girl does? And did I really need to wear these shoes? They are sooo tight!" he complained. I rolled my eyes.
"Oh, be quiet. You should be happy when my plan works," I answered haughtily.
"We-- he is here to see Ann," I told Doug cheerily when we enntered the Inn.
Doug's eyes lit up. "Oh, really?" he asked, eyes slanty. "She's back there," he gestured toward the door behind him. I tapped Rick on the back, and lightly shoved him to the door. I opened it, and whisper-reminded Rick what to say before pushing him inside and closing the door swiftly behind me.
