Yadda yadda blah. For those of you who haven't heard, this is the "sequel" to Nightmare in Mineral Town, my popular fanfic about Jack's decent into homicidal insanity. If you haven’t read Nightmare in Mineral Town, no biggie, this isn’t a true sequel. Just like “More Friends of Mineral Town” upon which this is based on, it’s a different story taking place in the same town and isn’t influenced by what happened in the other story. An alternate reality fanfic if you will, to Nightmare in Mineral Town (wow, how conceited of me to make a fanfic for my own fanfic!).
Hopefully my expectations are not let down, and this story will far surpass that of the original Nightmare. I hope to bring an original story to the table which will bring surprising delightful horror to my readers, not a carbon copy of a proven to work formula. I’m fully expecting complaints that More Nightmare just isn’t the same as Nightmare. I’m also expecting complaints of me ripping off the same idea I used before. Hopefully, most of my readers will fall between these two extremes, and find this story to be enjoyable.
And now, for a brief preview of what is to come, the Prelude to a Nightmare.
Prelude: And So It Begins
Mineral Town is a small isolated farming village nestled between a wide mountain ranges and the vast ocean. The town very life is in the farm, and without it the way of life in the town would die. The farm was run by an old man, but he was still strong and hard working, and the townsfolk expected him to live for many more years to come.
That's why they were stunned when one day they found that the old man had killed himself. When coming by to pick up the day's shipment, Zack found him, hanging with a rope around his neck from a tree, swinging peacefully from side to side, his head twisted to one side, and his jawbone crushed up into his skull.
The doctor's autopsy of the situation determined that it had indeed been a suicide. It appeared that the old man had climbed up into the tree and secured the rope firmly around his neck and the tree. Then he stood up, and dived forward headfirst off of the tree branch. The rope caught his chin, breaking neck and lower skull simultaneously, and whipping his body around, snapping his head backwards and ending his life.
Nobody knew why he had killed himself, and quickly they realized that nobody wanted to muse over it anyway. And so, within just two weeks, it had become an unspoken taboo to acknowledge the fact that the old man had killed himself; and instead, everyone just pretended that he had died in his sleep.
In the old man's will, there was a boy, Jack, who was named to be the successor of the farm. Unfortunately, the mayor of the town was unable to find and contact the boy to inform him of his inheritance. Local law though said that six months were to be given to honor a will before any unclaimed property would become property of the city.
As time passed, the town began to decay without the farm. For a while, they tried to go on, surviving off of the winery, but it hardly brought in enough money to support the town's economy. By the third month, it was quickly apparent that if they didn't have someone try and re-establish the farm, despite the will, it would fall into such a state of utter neglect that when the six month wait period was up, there would be no saving it. They would have to leave the town before then.
So the mayor declared, for the survival of the town, that the farm would have to be started back up without waiting any longer. But none of the townsfolk wanted to go and take over the farm where such a gruesome event had taken place. And so, an advertisement was posted in a big city newspaper many miles from Mineral Town, hoping that someone would come to save the farm and the entire town.

Well, I like it! So, it will be Jill/Claire. Well, duh, I know. And I want to know more, though. So far, it seems to be a very different story then the other Nightmare. Can't find anything wrong (if there is any grammer, I don't know or care).

Friends of Mineral Town Nightmare in Mineral Town More Friends of Mineral Town More Nightmare in Mineral Town What? Did you think I gave it that goofy name for no reason?

So far, so good. It felt a bit rushed, not much, but it did feel that way. It was still good, and the old man's suicide is very intriguing.

As soon as I saw that an ad had been placed for the farm in the big city newspaper, I knew the girl would be involved.
