Watch your thoughts, as they become words. Choose your words, for they become actions. Understand your actions, for they become habits. Study your habits, for they become your character. Develope your character, for it becomes your destiny. Prologue: We never really get the time to stop and think, which is what most people complain about. Why sit and wonder what your goal is in life, rather than grab life by the throttle and enjoy it the whole way through? You never know what tommorow may bring. In some cases, you're too busy wondering to even realize there is no tommorow. I could smell the salty air around me as the wind whisked it under my nose. I felt a small tingling sensation in my toes, butterflies in my stomach. I took a deep breath, and I remembered my Grandfather's dying words as I took my first step towards a new life. "The paths that cross ours are always for a reason. Life is a journey, Amie, not a destination." ~*~* Tell me what you think!

I finished a chapter, and realized that most stories started at the Inn, so I'm re-doing it.

Chapter 1 I guess I really wasn't too interested in farming. Not that I didn't like the quiet time, I think it was that you didn't get much out of it at the end. That sounded right. I kicked some dirt over the weeds in the field on my way out, just in case the mayor, a short, round man, came out and decided I wasn't any good at farming and made me leave. It wasn't likely, but I was somewhat attached to my Grandpa's farm. I was really eager to come to Mineral Town, too. Although I still think the name reminds me of a lumberjack company for some reason or another. Every year when I had come in the summer, I had probably spent more time with Aja than my Grandpa. I didn't regret it. Not much, anyway. I stopped in front of the large house. It was almost as tall as the inn next to it, with high stone walls. Beside it there was a small cellar with a wooden door, where the wine was held, and even further to the right were many grape vines. A sign with 'Aja's Winery' stood out front, letters barely legible, being washed away from the rain. Yet it looked diffrent, somehow. Less chearful. I guess not being here for six years had something to do with it. I knocked on the door with the big brass handle, and when no one answered, I let myself in. "A- Mana?" I called, almost calling her Auntie. I had called her that before, but I thought I pretty much lost the right to do that. No niece leaves an auntie for six years. Mana, a short, slender woman with dancing blue eyes and crow-black hair, rushed around the corner. Seeing me, the confusion left her face, and she hurried towards me. "Amie!" She said, almost yelling with delight like a small child. As she approached, I could see I was taller than her. "What brings you here? I haven't seen you in ages." My face fell, but I forced a smile. "Oh yeah... sorry about that." I began to fidget. "I've inherited the farm, so I'll be living here year 'round now." Her eyes filled with delight. Mana had always been a happy person, though it was hard to see through her dark blue dress and white apron she wore. They weren't really happy clothes, and I could smell the cheap perfume the town offered. I made a mental note to give her the rest of mine. "Aja's up stairs," She said, moving out of my way. "In her room... Oh, you don't need to take your shoes off, dear." I took them off anyway, as they were wet and muddy from the rain the night before. Climbing the stairs, I could here Mana going back into the kitchen. I heard no voices, so I guessed Duke, her husband, was in the cellar. I knocked quietly on Aja's door. She opened it. Without having a chance for my mind to process what I just saw, I stumbled backwards against the wall. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have more, but I'll wait for a few reviews before I type ot up.

Haha, it happens. Believe me. I'm very indecisive about my story lines. I STILL don't know where my story is going. Haha...
