Author: Okay here it is you guys, the second chapter! Special thanks to the people who reviewed my story! Well here goes…Chapter Two: Nutheads“I told you not to mess with it!”
“Me? You started it!”
Kymari quietly closed the door behind her and looked upon the scene before her eyes. There were piles of ashes scattered all over the floor of the Blacksmith’s shop along with tiny pieces of shredded paper. The furnace in the back of the room had slight dents all over it and there was a tiny spark of fire on it. The walls were burnt, the door leading to Saibara’s room was chewed off and the roof had a huge hole directly above the furnace. And to make the matter worse, Kai and Gray were both huddled around the furnace, arguing and trying to douse the tiny fire.
“Do you see what you’ve done!?!” Gray shouted while pouring a bucket of water over the flame. He missed. XD
“What I’ve done!? If you had just given me the darn thing, then this wouldn’t have happened!” Kai shouted back while waving a couple pieces of paper in the air. This was a really bad idea because the fire grew even worse.
“Oh my god, what did you guys do!?!?” Kymari yelled as she ran over to the roaring fire and the two terrified boys.
“He started it!” They both said at the same time, pointing fingers at each other.
“Ugh, both of you just shut up and try to douse this thing! Where’s Saibara!?” Kymari asked as she ran into Saibara’s room, desperately trying to look for him.
“He’s out getting water from Jack’s farm. What are you doing here!?” Kai asked, his eyes getting watery and starting to droop because of the immense heat.
“Now’s not the time! Just try to stay awake!!” Gray yelled angrily, his hat had been blown off and his hair slightly disheveled.
Suddenly, Saibara came bursting into the shop with a huge bucket of water, Jack and Harris following behind. Saibara poured the water over the flame and it died down; everything became silent except for heavy breaths and panting made by Kai and Gray.
“What in the world happened here!?” Harris exclaimed while examining the not-so-good-looking shop.
Both of the boys were too tired to talk, so Kymari came running out of Saibara’s room and towards Harris.
“Somehow, these two nutheads blew up the furnace and started a fire.” Kymari explained, arms crossed and glaring at the two boys; Kai sleeping on the floor and Gray leaning against the wall, trying hard to stay awake.
“I see…” Harris muttered while jotting something down on his notepad. “Kai and Gray, you need to come with me so we can talk.” He walked over to the two boys and examined them to see if they were okay. When no signs of fatal injuries were seen, Harris started to head out the door.
“Jack, do you mind dragging Kai over to the hospital? I don’t think he’ll wake up anytime soon.”
Jack nodded and literally started to drag the sleeping Kai over to the hospital.
“Since he won’t be doing any talking, I need you to take his place.” Harris said, looking over to Kymari.
Kymari grew silent for a while, and nervously nodded her head.
She and Gray started to follow Harris out of the shop and to who-knows-where.
*Why does he need me for? I didn’t see it when it happened. And where is he taking us?* Kymari wondered as Harris started to lead them into the forest. *I got a bad feeling about this…*
Suddenly, Harris made a halt and turned around to face Gray and Kymari. “Okay, now one of you guys needs to start talking and tell me exactly what happened.”
Gray and Kymari just looked at each other for a split second then stared at the ground.
Harris groaned and made a heavy sigh. *I hate this job.*
