Ok finally! Here is chapter 5. Sorry it took so long, I've been busy lately.

Chapter 5-

It was a few days after Jill had told me her brother was coming. I yawned sleepily as I sat up in my bed. I sighed and looked at the clock. It was later than I usually got up, but I didn’t care. I got ready and went down stairs into the kitchen. Mom handed me a piece of toast as I slowly walked out the door without a word. I took a deep breath of the fresh, spring air and started walking down the hill. I usually went to the mountains in the morning so that’s where I was headed. When I was at the turn to the mountains I saw Jill, some other people and a new guy standing at the entrance of the farm. I was right there so I decided to go meet the new person, it wouldn’t take very long anyway. I slowly walked over and tried to push through the small crowd. I glanced around and sighed deeply as I waited for Jill to shut up. She was blabbering nonsense to her brother while bouncing around excitedly. When she finally stopped and a few people moved out of the way I saw him. I sighed and quickly walked up to him.

“Hey I’m Karen…” I said, trying to be polite. I stared at him and raised my eyebrow as I waited for a reply. He had short, chocolate brown hair hidden under a blue cap, and deep, brown eyes that matched his hair. He wore jean overalls over a white t-shirt and brown work shoes. His skin was slightly tanned and he had a black watch on his left wrist.

“H-hi, I’m Jack…” he said. He was slightly blushing and he looked at the ground.

“Well nice to meet you Jack,” I said. I gave a small wave as I turned and started to leave. Jack waved shyly back and sighed.

I stretched as I walked across the wooden bridge leading to the woodcutters cabin. Stu then dashed by me, bumping into me. I screamed shortly as I stumbled, causing one foot to slip off the edge of the bridge. I gasped as I felt a hand grab mine. It pulled me up. I looked around and saw Stu quickly running away. I gave a sigh of relief and looked up at the person.

“Jack! What a surprise.” I said. I blushed slightly in embarrassment.

“Hi Karen… You ok?” he asked. He realized he was still holding my hand when I pulled back a little. He blushed and quickly let go.

“Yeah… Little scamps those kids are, thanks.” I replied. I stopped blushing and took a deep breath of fresh air.

“That’s good… I picked this for you,” he said. He started blushing a little and handed me a yellow flower.

I blushed slightly and took the flower from Jack. “Thank you… I love these,” I said smiling.

“Your welcome… Well I better go now; I need to get to work. Bye,” he said. He gave a small wave and started jogging energetically back to the farm.

I smiled and put the flower in my hair. I continued walking cheerfully through the forest picking flowers and making them into a bouquet. I sighed and sat down by a tree in the shade. I looked up at the sky and started to think.
