I've had this idea for a while now, but never did anything about it B/C i was waiting for my original copy of An Eternal War, but let it be known, it never came, so yeah... While i wait, i'm working on this one... This is kinda the prolouge, but really important.... I got the idea after watching a certain movie, that you might now after the next chapter... And Gwen is what i named the girl from MFOMT
Chapter One:
It was perfect. With this one fact, the young blonde farmer smiled as she ran down the cities’ brightly lit street. It seemed as if the goddess was shining her smile down upon Gwen as she raced down to a familiar young blacksmith. Nothing could spoil this moment.
As soon as she entered the square, Gwen’s smile lit up as she noticed the blacksmith standing right in the middle of the square. She had asked him to meet her there, and she was even more exited with the great news she would place upon him. The young farmer knew that it would be hard, considering that they were just young adults, trying to forge their future ahead of them.
Smiling, Gwen ran to meet the bright blue eyes of her true love as she jumped into his arms, and just began laughing. Gray looked at her with questionable eyes. Sure Gwen was usually happy, but never THIS happy. He just smiled a weary smile as he pulled her off, and averted her happy gaze.
“There is something I’ve got to tell you,” they said in unison, one apparently happy, and the other, not quite so much. Giggling, Gwen just put on one of her trademark smiles.
“You go ahead,” she said, backing up just a little bit. He looked at her with terrified eyes. “Mines kind of something I want to be left last in a sentence.”
Sighing, the young blacksmith looked deep into Gwen’s deep sky blue eyes. “Gwen, there is something I want to tell you.”
As he adverted the young farmer’s scared eyes, Gwen began to crumble in fear. Could he be hurt? Did Siabara do something to him… or even worse, is he leaving the city? What she was about to hear, never did once occur to happen to her. And it was the only thing that could destroy the great feeling HER news brought…
“I found someone else.” The words struck through Gwen with a great piercing pain. Immediately, Gwen felt the ground shift beneath her feet. Of course, Gray just kept continuing.
“You see, it just seems she knows me better, and understands me more. I’ve known it for a while, but never found the right way to tell you yet, Gwen.” He suddenly noticed the tears forming inside Gwen’s eyes, as he spoke. She turned to look down to the great distance that led to the beach. Trying to comfort her, he gently placed a hand on her shoulder. “I’m sorry Gwen. I don’t mean to hurt you… I just want to give Mary the chance she deserves.”
At that exact moment, she just wanted to die. Gwen just wanted to crawl into a small hole, and just die. The only person she ever really cared about was leaving her behind in the dust. And all she could do is cry, but she wouldn’t show her tears to him. Not now- that wasn’t the type of person she was. No she would smile, and hide the pain, because all she wanted was for him to be happy.
Putting on the most convincing smile, she dried up her great waterfalls of tears, and turned to Gray. “No, it’s perfectly fine. I mean, I shouldn’t horde you all to myself, right?”
Gray looked right past the fake smile, and saw she was truly hurt. “Gwen, I’m--”
Of course, she wouldn’t allow him to say it. “No, it’s perfectly fine. I mean, we all need to see other people before we decide who we truly want, right?” she asked, as she walked right past him, into the great shades the trees of summer offered, before they would change and fall.
“Well, I was just going to say that my cow was going to have a calf…” she lied in between her teeth, as she walked off. Before Gray could say anything, she ran off into the comfort of the great forest behind all farms.
All she wanted was for him to be happy, and if that librarian could make him happy, she would do it- give it all up for him. How could she tell him that, after he decided he wanted nothing left to do with her?
