Chapter 5
A talk with Eve
Claire was brushing her horse and getting ready to go to the mountain. Then Eve showed up and asked if she could talk to her. “So, what’s been on your mind?”. “*sighs* A whole lot” replied Eve. “if I tell you something don’t mention it to anyone, ok”. “Don’t worry I wont” said Claire. “Lately, I’ve been thinking about Dan” “I really don’t like Ray, but he likes me a lot, and I don’t want to hurt him. Then yesterday, Dan asked me out on a date tonight at 7:30, and I don’t know what to do. I mean, for Ray’s sake, I should tell Dan no, but I really like him. I also think he likes me, that’s why he asked me out.” said Eve worried. “Well you could break it off with Ray, but you don’t want to hurt him. That’s a tough one. Eve, I can’t tell you what to do, if you like Dan, tell Ray how you fell, I’m sure he’ll understand.” replied Claire. “You know what, I’m going tell Ray how I feel! Thank you Claire.”
“So, how is it going with Jake?” asked Eve. “ Um, well, *clears throat*” Claire remained silent. “You don’t have to tell me, but I know he likes you a lot, and you like him.” said Eve. “Thanks for your support, but I think he’s too good to be true. You would expect him to be like the other guys: flirting every chance they get, and telling lies when they don’t want to be with you.” Claire said. “Its just the way he is. He’s always been like that. Even when we were just little kids. Sometimes he wouldn’t want to play with you, but he would anyway.” Eve said with a soft voice.
“Claire, can I tell you a story about when we were young?” “Sure, go ahead” Claire said. “When we were kids, we would play in the meadows all the time. Most of the time the boys would be “it” because none of the girls wanted to. Dia would never play, she thought we should stop playing those “childish” games and grow up. Kurt was the same. He would sit at the beach, just looking at the water. One day we made up a game called “who will marry who” and played it. We had convinced Dia and Kurt to play. We made predictions that made everyone laugh. That I was going to be with Dan. Ann with Blue. Gina and Alex. Ellen and Carl. Bob and Gwen. Ray and Maria. Katie and Joe. Louis and Lyla. Basil and Nina. Kurt and Dia got mad when we said they were going to be together. Dia left home furious, and Kurt left embarrassed.” said Eve almost laughing. “So all of you knew each other since you were little”.
“There is another story no one likes to talk about, especially Jake.” Eve said almost crying. “What’s so bad about it?” Claire asked curiously. “Jake had a sister who was four years older than him, her name was Evelyn. When we would play she would watch us to make sure we didn’t get hurt. When any of our parents would offer to give her babysitting money, she would reject it. One on her 13th birthday, she died. Her parents, and especially Jake, wondered why she had died. It turned out she had a sickness that couldn’t be cured. Much quite like the one Dia had, only worse. Jake never came out of his house again, at least not to play.” Eve said sobbing.
“Everyone loved her. She always helped us when we had problems. When Gina fell and scraped her ankle, Evelyn patched it up and told her to go and play. When I was stuck on a tree, she climbed up and got me down. One time Blue and Ellen fell in a stream with fast currents, and Evelyn swam and swam until she got them out.” Eve ended.
“Wow…she was like a sister to you guys…huh?” Claire pointed out. “Yeah, she really was. Well, I think I should get going now. I have to get ready for my date soon.” Eve departed.

i am sorry to say this but i am putting up a different fan-fic
this one is getting me no where
i will put up one that has a point
sorry once again!
besides i have to make new ideas evryday and i am going on a vacation for
3 weeks
so it would only make me behind
