Most young people are near-sighted. Far-sightedness doesn't usual come except with old age.

Well for some reason she was far-sighted in one eye. -nods- My friend is like that... far-sighted in one eye, and the other one is near-sighted... As for me, I am near-sighted. Whoop-dee-doo.

When she was young she was far-sighted in one eye and near-sighted in the other. But then got near-sighted in both.

Like I said, most young people (but not all), are nearsighted. Farsightedness tends to develop as people grow old.
