She has 5 hearts in her diary. I just have to save enough money to make my house bigger before I can pop the question. Is there something I have to do to get her to say yes? I bought the blue feather.

I think that all you need to do is have the largest house, then just give her the feather. Its been so long since I played that game, so I can't be cerain. |

Alright, it's a shame I messed up at the beginning of the game. Looks like I have to wait till winter is over before I ask Maria to marry me  . I don't have enough money to make the house bigger and I'm relying on 4 chickens for funds |

You can gather herbs from the cave in the mountain. Also, on Sundays, you can sell stuff directly to the vendor for slightly more money.
