okay this is just my opinion but our paper in the manga's suck. It's so weak. {w/ our paper} when u bend the books back way to far, pages fall out and u can actually break the spine. however in others the paper's strong and u can't bend the book back to see what the charcters are saying better. I enjoy these books better. {do I sound stupid for this? and does anyone else notice that or is it just me??

Well yes.......... I once bought a manga book and then started reading it in the store and the whole book fell appart....... they gave me back double what I had payed and the next day there was a "do not read books in store even AFTER purchase" and I'm not sure if our economy could stand stronger paper,,,,

just how far do you 2 open your books, anyway I open them kinda wide, enough to cause a small crease and the cover staying off the pages, but never that bad........ I've read a large section of manga in a store, and have never once been told off for it. I just sat there for like 2 hours reading whatever I wanted, from GTO to Negima to YuYu Hakusho.

Some manga are bound better than others. THe older TokyoPop manga are horribly bound. My Sailor Moon books are falling apart!

for the Sailor Moon Manga ones that fall apart if u open them too wide, my friend showed me how u carefully read them w/o doing that. of course over time, they still fall apart.
here: My friend says open the book just wide enough to put ur thumb inside of it. basically that's how u have to read it. it's difficult but it can be done.

the library at my school has old tokyopop manga, both hardcover and softcover. they aren't falling apart though...
that tip about the rule of thumb is interesting...

the thumb rule has actually done wonders for my books. they are still falling apart, but they are in better shape then my first ones. my first ones are gone, all the pages came out.

Personally, the only book that's fallen apart on me is the 2nd Harry Potter. Everything else sticks together. Maybe because of the cold. ;D
