With the weather getting cooler, I've found myself with the urge to start knitting again. I went to the craft store and bought some nice bulky weight yarn and started working on a scarf. I hope I finish this one >_>; Although I love knitting, I tend to get bored and don't finish my projects. >_>;
I'd like to learn to crochet. I've tried, but I can't get the knack of it.
Does anyone else here knit or crochet?

I've tried to crochet, but I suck at it because I pull the yarn too tight and always end up unable to get the hook through the loops, especially for spheres. I haven't given up yet, but I have a short attention span for practicing.
Is knitting any easier? I'd like to make myself a snake scarf, but by the time I learn to crochet well enough for a scarf it will probably be summer again.

I found knitting a lot easier; my problem with crochet was that I'd always lose track of which loop I was supposed to stitch into, and I'd end up with a lot of mistakes. It's easier to keep track of stitches on knitting needles. For me at least.

Sounds like knitting might be a bit easier. I would always lose track of the loops when crocheting, too, so I skipped quite a few.

You might also like looms, like the Knifty Knitter. They're best for hats, though, but you can make scarves too. They're really easy to use.

I finished my scarf! It's very soft and warm.
I bought a learn-to-crochet kit yesterday, and I'm going to give it another go!

Yay, I love knitting! Last year I got a whole bunch of requests to make my friends hats but it got way overwhelming and I kinda stopped for a while. I just finished a hat and remembered how fun it was. I'm gonna make all the Hogwarts scarves this year, I just finished Ravenclaw. Tell me how crocheting goes, I've always considered trying it

I'm starting to get the hang of it. Part of the reason i had so much trouble before was that I was making my starting chain wayyy to tight. I might be making it too loose now, but at least I can crochet a little bit. ^^;

When I was younger, i wanted to learn how to knit. Embarrassing, I know. But because of obvious reasons, I was never allowed to learn. Knitting is not a "Manly" skill to learn.

Yes! The person who runs Sprite Stitch is a guy and he cross-stitches.
