Since the holiday season, you've probably heard quite a few Christmas carols by now. And I'm curious to hear what songs other people like, so some questions:
1. What are your favorite carols? 2. Least favorite? 3. Any you're tired of hearing because they're played so much?
---
For me:
1. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Fairytale of New York, and Auld Lang Syne (not sure if it's an actual Christmas song, but since it's on some CDs I'll count it).
2. I have an irrational hatred of Sleigh Ride. Probably because I hear it every time I go shopping.
3. A lot. I've mentioned I've been listening to one of Galaxie's music channels lately and they replay some songs over and over again. Right now I'm pretty tired of The Little Drummer Boy, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by the Jackson 5, The Christmas Song, and anything by Celine Dion and Willie Nelson.

1. O Tannenbaum/Oh Christmas Tree. I don't know why, from it song in the original German version or even the uppity Charlie Brown version, everytime I hear it, I pause.
2. We wish you a Merry Christmas. Now, mind you, not the first verse. The first verse is fine with me. But the rest of the song IS A BUNCH OF BRATS DEMANDING FIGGY PUDDING AND THEY EVEN SAY RIGHT IN THE SONG THEY WON'T LEAVE UNTIL THEY GET SOME! What kind of Christmas song is that?
...
And for the record, Figgy Pudding sucks.
3. Actually, I have to say I enjoy Christmas music over regular music. I'm actually ready for a good month of something else besides the typical crap on the radio. I'm actually disapointed I haven't heard and Chimpmunk music yet.

My favorite is Joy to the World. I like it because it's about the only carol about Jesus that is fast-paced and well...joyful. Why are all the religous songs so slow? >_>
Least favorite? Good King Wensesclaus. It's kind of boring and I'm not really sure of the point of it.
I am getting tired of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. It plays about five times a day at work, by five different artists, and I'm tired of hearing it.
You sound like my mom! She hates that part of the song too!

And for the record, Figgy Pudding sucks. I've never listened to the song that closely, but now that I have it's like, "WE WISHED YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS, NOW BRING US SOME GROSS-LOOKING PUDDING!" But it seems a lot of people agree that it's not very Christmas-like because the first two versions I found on YouTube have those verses cut. Also, another song I like: Good King Wenceslas. I've heard that song only once this year in a medley and it was about eight seconds long.

Favorite Christmas carol?? Traditional: Silent night. Always loved it since I was a child. Modern: Sending you a little Christmas. Has a beautiful tune, along with touching lyrics.
Least Favorite? Noel. Half the song is basically Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel. It's annoying, and stupid. Hark the herald angel sing. I never got that song.
Played out? I can't really say that there are any that are truly played out. If anything, I would say that Jungle bells, and it's one million remakes are a bit much.

1. I pretty much love all... but some 2. I hate the song Boom-Tarat-Tarat. See, I was just about to sleep when suddenly these bunch of kids shou that darn song out and wouldn't leave me to rest. I don't know how many houses they went to on my street!!! 3. Never. I awlays cry when I hear soft mellow ones, rock out to Jingle Bell Rock and sing along with the chorus. I. just. hate. carolers!!!
