Well, I can't decide, and I probably should soon. Since I figured we'd be exchanging friends codes, I might just get whichever version gets less notes.

I'm thinking of waiting and seeing if they decide to remake crystal version before deciding, and if not, probably Soul Silver.

I preordered SS as well. Did you order yours at Gamestop, Mokes? I did, but they were out of the Lugia figures. They said they'd have one for me when I come to pick up my copy of the game. Only 16 more days! I actually had Gold back in the day (although it actually wasn't mine, it's a long story, and I would have bought Silver if given the choice) but I always liked the look of the Silver cartridge better, and I like Lugia more (though in a way, it's better to get Gold if you like Lugia because you'll get a level 70 one instead of a level 40 one in it, and vice versa for Ho-oh in Silver). And of course, Nevada is the Silver State. My buddy wants to get SS as well. He bought Diamond because I had Pearl, but like I told him, buying different versions than your friends isn't as important as it used to be with the advent of the GTS and Friend Code trading.

nah, i ordered mine off amazon. we live about an hour away from the closest gamestop, so we don't get to go there that often. =/
have been going there to get the pokemon that activate the events in SS and HG, though. kinda nice, considering i've never gotten to do the download thing before.

I pre-ordered SS yesterday. I had to go to Gamestop to replace my Wii Sensor bar, so I made an on the spot decision to order SS.

I got the Pichu and Jirachi. I had both of them on both Pearl and Platinum, but then Pearl glitched on me when I was trading with a friend, and I lost it. I've also lost a very high level Blastoise in the same way. Oh well. I'm eventually going to get an Action Replay or Gameshark so that I can get back the promotional pokemon (like Shaymin and Darkrai) that I lost when I lost my DS and first copy of Pearl last spring. I'll just use it to get Jirachi back too.

Everyone, it's time to party like it's October 2000 all over again! ;D
I just got back from Gamestop with my copy, I'm so happy! Gamestop also made good on their promise to give me my Lugia figure (which they couldn't when I made the preorder because they were out), so I'm completely satisfied, I actually haven't started playing it yet, although I have cracked it open. I was surprised that Nintendo had to make a special card with a built-in transmitter for the Pokewalker to work, I figured that there must have been some way for it to work with the DS hardware's own wireless transmitter.
Did anyone else attach the belt clip to their Pokewalker? I did, even though I probably won't ever wear to my belt or clip it on anything else. I did it for nostalgia's sake, as this thing is a throwback to the old Pokemon Pikachu virtual pet. I never actually owned one myself, although I did have a Digimon D3 back in the day, which is fairly similar.
Time to register it to get my Nintendo Club points, and then I can play!
