I need stuff to read at the beach. I like fantasy, supernatural and paranormal stuff. Not generally a big fan of mysteries and true crimes.
I'm not looking for anything deep, just something fun.

Tales of a 4th grade nothing * very funny Oh man... it's been while. They might be for kids but that series (generally referred to as the Fudge series, after the main character's brother, who's antics are the main focus of the books), is hilarious. I actually wrote an english paper my freshman year of college (which I ended up reusing for two psychology classes over the next couple of years ;D) on whether or not Fudge had Asperger's Syndrome. Got a decent grade on it, too. Anyway, if you like fantasy, you can't go wrong with any of Ann McCaffrey's dragon books. I read about half of them in high school.

If you like fantasy with a dose of humor thrown in, the Diskworld novels by Terry Pratchett are good. Some books by Neil Gaiman are good: American Gods, Anansi Boys, and Neverwhere are goode authors co-wrote a very funny book together: Good Omens.

Geez, you guys know me well. @_@ You've made good suggestions, but I've read many of the books you've suggested.
I do kind of like the idea of rereading the Fudge books. I haven't read some of them since I was a kid. Rereading the Harry Potter series sounds good too.
Keep up the suggestions! =D

Well, if you like dragons, I recommend The Last Dragonlord, and if you've never read Tamora Pierce, try The Circle of Magic Book One Sandry's Book or Song of the Lioness Book One Alanna: The First Adventure.

I do kind of like the idea of rereading the Fudge books. I haven't read some of them since I was a kid. So you're familiar with them! If it's been that long for you, though, what you probably don't know is that there's actually a fifth book (sixth if you count Sheila the Great, which is more of a spin-off) in the series now: Double Fudge. It's pretty good, too.

I just finished The Clan of the Cave Bear and its probably my favorite, Its fantasy, its funny, and its about the beginning of humanity. I still need to read that. It was mentioned in one of my anthropology classes, but our TA didn't go into it because he said one could do a whole lecture on it. >_> So...I've mostly been reading comics lately there are two series I recommend: Scott Pilgrim and Wonder Woman. I was never a fan of her, but the reboot is pretty good so far and the issues should be really easy to find since 601 was just released yesterday.

It has a major case of Science Marches on, since it was written close to 30 years ago, but it's a good read. Unfortuntly, the series goes downhill from there. I still enjoy the books, but they're more of a guilty pleasure than anything else.

BTW Butters, though it probably won't help you at the beach, if you want to do something with your hands, the audio books for Harry Potter are quite good(you can find them free on Youtube, among other places...*cough cough*) I mention it because I recently started using it when I sew, since I need my hands AND my eyes for counted cross-stitch.
