Some things I'm hoping for:
-A setting in Chūgoku & Shikoku
As most of you probably know, each region of the main series Pokemon world (barring Unova, which is New York City), is based on a different region(s) of Japan. Kanto is based on Kanto, Johto is Kansai & Chubu, Hoenn is Kyushu, and Sinnoh is Hokkaido.
I think a region based on Chūgoku & Shikoku would be interesting. Like Hoenn/Kyushu, there's about an equal amount of land & water, including the body of water that separates the 2 parts, Seto Inland Sea. Chūgoku includes Hiroshima (as in, the part of Japan that got hit with an atomic bomb), which could provide the basis for some interesting story lines (and how about some Pokemon mutated by radiation? ;D).
Chūgoku and Shikoku are also right next to the real-world equivalents of two existing Pokemon regions, which would set up my second wish.
-A return to Johto and/or Hoenn
It's time. Part of what made GSC and Black and White 2 great was that you were able to revisit an old region a few years later, see what had changed, and revisit old characters. It's a bit greedy to ask for both, but it'd be cool to have one or the other. If the new region were based on Chūgoku and Shikoku, it would be wedged right between the two, with Johto to the east and Hoenn to the west. I'd rather have Johto, personally, but I'd be fine with Hoenn. It might make more sense to use Hoenn, with rumors of an RSE remake on the wind and HG/SS being a bit too recent.
-An evil organization that wants something besides world domination
The Team Whatever concept is getting a little played out. Team Plasma with it's PETA-esque agenda was a step in the right direction (on a personal note, I relished in the thought that I was actually playing a game that let me stick it to a bunch of over-bearing tree huggers ;D), but even that ended up just being a facade. It's leader wanted the world, just like Aqua, Magma, and Galactic before it.
Bringing back Team Rocket might not be a bad idea. HG/SS showed us with the Celebi time travel quest that Giovanni didn't just drop off the face of the Earth after his defeat in Viridian City, perhaps he really has been rebuilding the group from the shadows this whole time.
At any rate, no more insane cultists/terrorists trying to take over the world using ancient Pokemon. Do something different. A giant corporation that wants to rip everyone off. Religious fanatics trying to purge the world of infidels. Re-use Pokemon Adventures's evil version of the Elite 4 somehow. Anything.
-New Pokemon ideas
-Baby Kangaskhan: just give it a name and an item for Kangaskhan to hold to breed it.
-A fire/grass type chili pepper Pokemon: a guy I met at a convention had this idea. I think it'd be fun. They gave us an ice cream cone (and not just one critter, a whole evolutionary line) in Gen 5, so why not?
-A Slenderman Pokemon: Lots of Pokemon are based on legendary creatures. How about one based on a very recent, very creepy urban legend? It could be a ghost type, a dark type, or both.

Ooh, I really like the of a chili pepper Pokemon! I agree that the various evil Teams are getting played out. I wouldn't mind another smaller-scaled crime syndicate like Team Rocket though. But the other teams are so over-the-top. It's getting a bit ridiculous.

Not sure if I am gonna get this game. Sure would make make some nice fics if they did the game right. Most likely not, but we'll see. I was never too happy with Gen-3 and beyond.

For the first time in over a decade, we have a new type, Fairy!

I'm not really thrilled about a new type. We can only carry 6 Pokemon and we must balance out the ones we carry to deal with the monsterous number of Pokemon types we already have. The fairy type does not add to the roster, and our existing pokemon collection can take out the other Pokemon Fairy can KO (Not to mention that our old roster can take out any fairy Pokemon easily as well.).
Fairy is super effective mainly against Dragon type, which was always easily taken care of by Ice moves. Fairy Pokemon can also deal with Dark and Fighting types; everyone has a psychic Pokemon, so fighting is no problem, dark was never a problem for me either.

The games come out next week. Which version are you getting?
I'm getting Y, mainly because I usually get the first game in the pairs. I actually don't know what the difference is >.>

My brother is buying me a copy. Problem is that I don't have a 3DS (Fail!) Have you considered buying a 2DS? It's a lot cheaper than thr 3DS. I hardly ever use the 3-D feature. It drains the batteries anf gives me a headache

I get horrible eyestrain, mostly because I never hold the system perfectly still. Of course, I'm one of those people who doesn't like the 3D gimmick anyway.
