My advice is write about what you love, and just let the words flow out. Always edit, and spend time on your story, because that is what makes it great. Follow what your minds tells you, and if you think something doesn't fit, then try again.
Sorry I don't give very good advice...but there is mine! ^_^

More addvice.
Write whatever the hell you want to. Even if people flame you. Someone out there will hate it. Then again, someone out there will love it. It is as simple as that. However, if you are writing some just to piss off people and not to be funny, then don't do it. It's fine to write something for yourself and a few of your friends, but do not post it just to be mean. Do it to be funny!

That's true; what's most important is that you like what you are writing

Yes, but I have seen some ones that should never have been written. A Kirby one comes to mind.

when i wrote a fanfiction of mine, someone gave me advice and told me that there shouldn't be too much dialogue. and thats true. if there's too much dialogue in your story, the reader will be confused and wont know who's saying what.

If anyone wants Potato's advice...here it is.
When you have writters block, like meh, take a step outside. Walk around listen to the swaying of the trees, watch the birds sing, let your imagination flow. It's better than sitting at your compter, or in a chair, staring at the blank page.

Umm, well.... IDK about giving advice too, but here is mine-
When starting one, just get a basic idea set. (ex from Can Love Come Softly: Nami has to live with jack for a year) and from there just write what comes to mind. If you get stuck, don't think about it, matter of fact, don't work on it for a while. When you pick it back up, it'll always come back....
P.S. i got this one from my Language Teacher- Revise it alot, but there is a time when youve revised it so much, you've altered the story. The sign of a good writer is when you finish a story, it seems complete to others, yet not entirely to yourself. Or there is nothing left to revise, yet it seems incomplete to you, like you could have added more....

I think so. You can be too descriptive. Sometimes, shorter is better.

Whenever I come up wih an idea, I first write it down to a scratch paper so I won't forget it.
But before I write the whole thing, I want to be inspired. If I'm not in the mood it may sound as if I hurried it and... you get my point.
If I'm going to write a sad one, I can watch dramatic stuff or listen to sad songs...
But I'm never really a fantastic writer, so what do I know

SOME MORE RANDOM ADVICE.
Never, ever, ever, be afraid to ask for help. Even if you are embarrassed. Ask for it. Help is always there.

Have confidence in what you write. You shouldn't have to have good reviews or ratings just to have confidence in your writing. You're always going to have people that rave about how great it is or people that criticise it to death. That even happens with famous authors.
However, don't think so highly of your writing that you can't accept constructive criticism.
