Just wondering what everybody's preferred genre to write in was, whether you're writing a fanfic or an original idea.
My preferred genres change. But right now I'm really big with historical fiction, myth, fables, and fantasy (mostly steampunk, I love the Victorian Era.)

does fanfiction count as a genre? XD
if not, romance, i guess. though, i haven't tried much else, aside from that and humor.

I am most skilled in the Drama department. I do some Romances, but they can get rather cheesy. Comedy is not very strong, but I have made some people go LOL. I need more practice with Action/Adventure and Horrors.

If short story is a genre, fanfic can be a genre too.
Typically literature genres are: Nonfiction, Myth and Legend,Biography, Folk Tales and Fairy Tales, Autobiography, Fables, Realistic Fiction, Short Story, Historical Fiction, Poetry, Science Fiction, Drama, Fantasy, Journalism. Give or take a few. Some people consider 'satire' a genre.

I guess I mostly write fantasy and drama, though I've been wanting to try my hand at fairy tales for a long time.

romance, action, adventure, drama, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, fantasy and horror. All those are equal in my eye.

I used to love writing fanfics. Now I'm more into drama and romance and sometimes when I'm feeling logical, science fiction.

Lately, I've been into drama. I don't know why, but I like to write scenes with people fighting (not physically). Heh, that's weird.
And I've always liked writing romance stories.

The VAST majority of writing I do now-a-days (that isn't required school essays and the like) is just fanfiction. ...I feel a bit nerdy saying that, but it's true. ^^;
But other than that, if I looked back into the stuff I'd do back before I discovered fanfiction, it would have to be fantasy, drama, romance, and supernatural. Or rather, a healthy blend of all of the above. And I would always tend to write in first person too, if that matters at all... And I would usually make a male character to write from. I've often found the male mind to be quite interesting and amusing (in a good way of course!). ^^

*thinks this is a little late cough*
I'm someone who loves reading humor and romance and adventure but detests writing it. I write drama (very, very angsty drama, mind you), tragedy, and crack (sometimes, in pairings). I love writing bloody things or things that make people cry blah blah blah. @_@
Just, I don't know, everything's just centered around... tragedy.

I used to be like that. Though it was more angst than anything. XD I'm glad I grew out of that.
