I need some help!!! Ok I was looking up the Japanese version of Harvest Moon: Exciting Animal March for the Wii (The only version out) And I was ready to buy it but... a warning came up saying This game only works on Asian/Japanese Systems. Is that true? Will the Japanese game only work on the Japanese version of the Wii system or... are they mistaken. I ask becaue I don't want to spend $60+ and not be able to use the game. If anyone as the Japanese vesion of this or any other game can you please HELP!!!!! I beg you answer if you have information!!!!!

um, i'm thinking if they say it'll only work on a japanese version, it'll only work on a japanese version. =/
a japanese wii probably differs from an american one, and wakuwaku animal march may use features not yet used on the american versions. don't ask me what those might be, i just know that that's usually the case for these type of things.

BTW, DS IS region free. That means anything will run on it. As for the Wii... I'm afraid I can't tell you, try researching it.

I've tried reseaching it but, when ever I look it up no information appears!
Ahh - I'm so upset!!! I would assume that if Japan makes all these games they would make them all the same and compatible with all the systems they make... but I really could be wrong!... SO if anyone really knows please please reply!!
Thanks to everyone who already did!

I'm 99% sure that you'd also need to buy a Japanese Wii in order to properly import and play the game.

Unfortunately consoles like Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 etc are set to the certain regions. American Wii games will only work on an American Wii, Japanese Wii games will only work on a Japanese Wii. The only console I know that is region free is the Nintendo DS.
So you would need a Japanese Wii to play the Japanese game. Unless they have released a Freeloader for the Wii but I haven't heard of anything like that yet.

I know there is a disk you can purchase that you can put in to your wii then put a japanese game into it in order to play it, it was on fogu once... i'm not to sure how long ago though. here's the info cher gave on www.fogu.com/hmDatel, the maker of the Action Replay device, has made their new Freeloader disc for Wii available for sale. The Freeloader disc lets you play another region's game on your Wii console without the need of a mod chip. Each region (JPN, NA, and PAL) have their own version of the Freeloader cd. The nice thing about the Freeloader is that it works for the Japanese version of Harvest Moon Wii ( やすらぎの樹 ), for those of us with North American consoles I do not know if the game can be played the same with PAL Wiis + Freeloader, but I'm sure someone is bound to give it a try soon.
