I always have trouble writing summaries for my stories and comics. I can never tell what is essential information that the readers need to know in order to judge if they would like to read it or my summaries sound really boring or weird.
Any one have any tips for writing summaries?

#1: Gotta have your hook. Make it sound like you're excited about your story/comic/whatever, and other people will want to be too.
#2: Giving a glimpse of your own personality is never a bad idea. Serious story, talk up some intrigue. Light humor, make a witty reference to your work.
All in all, just get to the point in a memorable fashion, and take it as an opportunity to show off a bit. ;D

writing summaries: ~don't hesitate to put down facts related to your story. ~writing about the goal of the main character/s. like "Yes Princess" their goal is to have total world domination. ~write about the disturbances. such as: but when they reach the supermarket when the young princess is distracted by a mere bucket of ice cream. ~exaggerate a little. some people call this lying but it's pretty fine ~write about important events. for "The Reborn": When Poofy McStalker Pants steps in and ruins the short peace of Angela.
yup, that's all.

ficbitch.wishing-blue.net/rants/jen2.phpThis is actually for Sailor Moon fics, but it has great advice at the bottom. Actually, knowing your an SM fan, Butters, if you've ever traversed through the often "evil sludge that is SM fics" you'll appreciate this site, it's quite entertaining!

Include when the story happens in a time line. Possibly add a quote from the story itself.
