I don't know why, but over the last few years, i rarely finish video games that I start. If it's an open-ended game, like Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing, I can't meet goals like marriage or paying off Tom Nook's loan.
The last Zelda game I beat was Minish Cap. I still haven't finished Wind Waker, Twilight Princess or Phantom Hourglass. I never beat the Elite Four in Pokemon Diamond.
Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, I never finished the computer game Ultima 3. Now just tring to find a copy of the game, that will work with today's Windows system is hard.

yeah, i have a hard time finishing games, too. :/ i have gotten better, though.
it's mostly console games i don't finish; i don't have much of a problem with handhelds. but that's probably because they're my preference.

For me, it's some games. I have never beat any of the handheld Zelda games I have, Oracle of Ages, Link's Awakening and Spirit Tracks. As for console games, I attack them and beat them anyway I can. I have no idea why.

I never finish games. I play them until I get a new one xD

The few games I have beaten have been hand-held. I guess it's easier to beat a game if you can play pretty much whenever you want.
I can be that way too. I used to not buy games until I'd beaten the old one, but that didn't work out either.

I always seem to finish them, even if it takes forever. I have this habbit of not playing any other game until i finish the current game that i'm playing. Usually it's the storylines that drive me to finish the games.

It depends on the game. Some I've stopped playing due to boredom and others I've stopped playing because I got a new game.
My bigger problem is starting games, mostly cheaper impulse buys. I got NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams for ten dollars and still haven't gotten around to playing it. >_<

Yeah, but it's the exact opposite for me: it's the games with a clear goal that I can't seem to finish, mostly RPG's. I've had Dragon Quest VIII for over two years now, but I'm stuck on Rhapthorne. To be fair, the game is absolutely massive, and I got so frustrated trying to beat Empyrea that I put the game down for several months. Then, when I finally got to Rhapthorne, not only was he insanely strong, what he looked like really weirded me out, not to mention pissed me off a bit. The dialogue in the game made him out to be evil incarnate, I was expecting something like Chernabog, Sephiroth, or Giygas, not the love child of Majin Buu and Rita Repulsa! So, I'm working on other games right now. I also got stuck on the last boss in Final Fantasy III (the DS version, what's really sad is that I got it shortly after it was released, over three years ago ), have only gotten about halfway through Final Fantasy IV (DS), put down a disappointing copy of SWTCW: Republic Heroes after only a few levels (a gift from a well-meaning friend), scratched the surface on Final Fantasy X (borrowed from the same friend), and can't seem to beat that one boss that swallows Bryson in Geist.

Dosbox, I use it to play Warcraft I Orcs and Humans(which is an awesome game, considering it was the FIRST of it's genre.) And I'm guilty, storyline drove me to finally finish Fire Emblem, and is driving me to replay it(yes, I'm insane). I tend to leave HM games the most, I still come back to them from time to time, but they're just so MANY games I like!

Well, you aren't alone in the boat, Butters. All of us here, including myself, get stuck somewhere.
And it's always the last dugeon for me! I don't know why, but once I get to that point, either life catches up to me or I get something knew, and then I keep telling myself I'll beat it, but I never do.
I'm getting better, but still...
We need to totally make a commiment on here for each of us to beat a game we start and support us through the whole way! Like an AA meeting or something.

I'm kind of proud of myself. In Soul Silver, I've earned all the Johto gym badges, beat the Elite Four and have earned three Kanto badges. It's been a while since I got this far in a game
