Yeah, all this chat about Pokemon has me playing FireRed again. So I have question for those who care, how does this team sound? Dragonite Dragon Flying Charizard Fire Flying Mankey Fighting Geodude Rock Ground Vaperon Water Haunter Ghost If you need a refresh, here's the type chart-> Pokemon TypesNote first of all that I'm only in mid-20's, so some of this is future. The evolved ones are mentioned specifically because they gain a second type when they evolve to their final stage. There are no electric type here, and quite frankly, I'm unsure how that will work. I've never had a team without electric(I'm too big a Pikachu/Mareep fan!)so I'm leaving my comfort zone a bit there. Oh, Vaperon is theoretically Ice as well, since I always teach my Vaperon's Blizzard and Ice Beam.

Just going by the types, it seems fairly well balanced. You don't seem to have anything to counter water types, though, and two members of your team are weak to water. Can Dragonite learn an electric attack? You might want to teach one of them a dark move too, to counter psychic types.

Your team is decent, but I think you need an electric pokemon in the rooster. But at least Dragonite is capable of electric moves. This is my group:
Arcanine - Fire Lapras - Water/ice Kadabra (which is replaced by Mewtwo later) - Psychic Jolteon - Electric Dugtrio - Ground Venosaur - Grass/poison
My only problem tends to be against Psychic Pokemon. I have no pokemon who can "Super Effective" against the psychic type (except maybe Jolteon, but pin missile is pretty weak). Since Psychic pokemon usually have low defense scores, I send Dugtrio after it.

Yeah, I think I'll definitely teach Dragonite an electric move or two, but I'm also going to keep a Pikachu in the Babaysitter's if nothing else for back up later.

He does, but the move is relatively weak as opposed to other shadow moves like Crunch.

In the right hands, it can still be devastating. And don't forget, Bite's flinch odds can sometimes make a difference.

Indeed, I loved dark types in Silver/Gold.
I just beat Lt. Surge and got an electric TM from him, so Dratini is now equipped to deal with water!
