After days of research, I have learned so much about the Pokemon world. One of the things I did look up is the storyline that connected the five generations of games. And I must say that I completely hate the mainstream storyline of the games. When I first played Pokemon, the story was about you as a young person obtaining a Pokemon, training it to compete in the tournament, and earn the title of champion. This story is simple, engaging, and most of all fun.The story of the second game established rules of the Pokemon world. One of the rules that made me look forward to the upcoming titles is that winning the Pokemon Tournament doesn't make you a Pokemon Champion. You are the champion of the tournament, but you are now the LOWEST rank of Pokemon masters. There is a ladder that you must climb to ascend to the title of the Pokemon Champion. This is the rank: Pokemon Master Pokemon Gym Leader Member of Elite 4 Champion Some people try to argue against this Pokemon rank system, but this is not the place to discus Pokemon Politics. Nope, this is the topic about Pokemon's story. So in Gold and Silver, they follow the story of what happens to masters after they earn their title. Blue becomes a Gym Leader, Red trains at Mt. Silver because his injuries prevent him from being a Gym Leader, Koga raises the rank of Elite 4, and Lance raises his rank to Champion. Now we cut to Ruby and Sapphire and beyond. Do we get into trainers becoming more than pokemon masters? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! We have to now learn the origins of Pokemon, and their roles in the balance of nature and crap. Really? Last time I checked, Pokemon world is an imaginary world. What do I care where do Pokemon come from? What do I care how certain Pokemon rule or govern certain aspects of life? I just want to catch Pokemon, and fight! Not hear about the Pokemon gods, and their versions of Adam and Eve. About the origins of Pokemon, the story behind that can get a bit weird. According to the Sinnoh myth, Pokemon and Humans were at once the same thing (or imply that Humans evolved from Pokemon). And they also "ate together" and "married each other" (ewwww!). Other myths imply that humans once ate Pokemon as food (which I always thought humans ate Pokemon, otherwise what do they eat?). The story behind Arceus is just plain ridiculous! He is apparently the creator of all things (Like our Christian god). That Pokemon created Dilaga and Palkia first, and then Giratina. Giratina tried to defeat Arceus, but was then banished to another dimension (close to our story of Lucifer?). Palkia and Dilaga then created earth. The three emotion Pokemon were then created to create life on earth. All the legendary Pokemon were created in some way by Arceus to govern something. Entei, Raikou, Suicune are the only exceptions since they were created by Ho-oh.
I have found several variations to this story, but this is pretty much how it rolls. WHat is more insane is that I found out that Mew, the god that governs all Pokemon by posessing the genes of all living things actually created Arceus. But Arceus created Mew. How does this work? According to Pokemon Lore, after Arceus created Mew, Mew went back in time to create Arceus. Like a crazy Pokemon paradox. Everything that I learned above is just . . . . . stupid! I mean, even if I did roll with this story, I just have a few questions. If Arceus is the god of all creation, how the **** do we catch it with man made Pokeballs? That's like catching God with a technologically advanced crab trap! And if Humans evelved (or at the very least created by Arceus), then can't we catch Humans with Pokeballs? And why don't humans have a Pokemon ID number? Unless human is Pokemon number 000? I don't know! And seriously, I can actually battle Arceus, the god of all living things, with my Charizard, and actually defeat it? What happens when the god of all things is defeated by a non legendary Pokemon? And by Pokemon Lore, why doesn't the god of all life have unlimited stats? Even Mewtwo's stats are comparable to the all mighty god of all creation! Luckily, there is the Pokemon Manga. Now THIS is a story! In fact, this story is awsome! Not only is this story awsome, this story follows very closely the storylines of Gen 1 and 2 without the bullcrap of gen 3 and beyond. No Pokemon of creation or anything like that. Just good old Pokemon trainer story, and the true story of how Red got to Mt Silver, and why Green is a Gym Leader instead of Red. There also lies the story of the female trainer Blue, and the origin of Yellow. You should look it up, I'll post the link:
