Another secret of mine is that I like the Legend of Zelda series. I am not a total fanatic of it. I just happen to like the whole collecting items to overcome obstacles challenge, and the fun of solving puzzles while defeating a group of baddies on the way. I don't like every last entry that came out. But I am very fond of these particular games:
Legend of Zelda: Link to the past Legend of Zelda: Mayora's mask Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
So you may ask, "What about the others?"
Well, I must admit that I have not played a good number of them. The ones that I did that are not on the above list are:
Legend of Zelda: Link's awakening Legend of Zelda Legend of Zelda 2 Legend of Zelda: Skyward sword
Now I am not too fond of these games for their own unique reasons. I am NOT saying that they are bad games, but these in particular did not satisfy my adventure pallet. This is why:
Legend of Zelda - This game was too primitive, and does not feel like an adventure. I know it was the first game, and I should forgive it's faults. But Gameboy did a bit better, and Nintendo should have tried a bit harder. it's a rough game that was a bit much to swallow.
Legend of Zelda 2 - I liked this game a little better. It was different, and it was early signs of an RPG. Collecting EXP, leveling stats, and conquering dungeons. Not to mention that it still has the item collecting puzzle elements. The reason I am not too fond of this game is that it was TOO HARD!! My childish brain could not handle the complex nature and manual dexterity the game required. I'd try again in my older age, but Link dying still gives me nightmares.
Link's awakening - A fine good game, but I got lost and never completed it mid game. But at least I picked it back up and is willing to give it another go.
Skyward Sword - The game got really boring really fast. Besides the intro game being dull, much of the collected items and puzzle elements took too long, and I dozed off while playing. Too much thought was put into this game.
I put some extra thought into the series mainly because I keep running into "LoZ storylines explained" videos. Many of LoZ's lore can be found there, and player speculations really got me pumped for the series. So I decided to pick up an old copy of LoZ: Link's awakening, and play it.
We'll see what happens from here.
P.S. I need a break from Pokemon!
