Ever had a game, which nobody has probably ever heard of, but you still love to death?
Mine would have to be a little known puzzle game known as Yoshi for the original Gameboy.
5 different types of Blocks, plus top halves and bottom halves of Yoshi eggs, fall down from the top of the screen in four different columns.
You switch collomns that are next to each other as they fell up. To keep them from filling up all the way, you match two types of blocks on top of each other, or have a bottom half a Yoshi egg, with stuff inbetween, and a top half the above the stack. Then the egg compresses down, and a Yoshi hatches out, with a bigger, more adult Yoshi, the more "food" that was inside the eggshells.
I've played that game for countless hours, and think it's a better puzzle game that Tetris.
Now, whatever obscure game you love, go play it now. It needs some loving.

I dunno how obscure it is, but I loved Bubble Bobble when I was younger. And until recently Harvest Moon was an obscure series.

I'd definitely say the Myst games. They're awesome games that always have some of the best graphics and sound you'll see, an amazing story, lots of puzzle solving, etc. The Myst games have everything you'd need for a best-selling. Unfortunately, it just seems that no one plays them =( I just don't get it. Until recently, I had only heard of the Myst games and thought that they sounded kinda cool. A friend was getting rid of some stuff earlier this year though and thought that I'd like to take a shot at Myst - a computer game that he never had time to play. I tried it.....and loved it! We're talking an old game too! This game runs on Windows 3.1! For its day, Myst was amazing in all areas! My only complaint was that it was much too short. I beat it in about 4 hours on my first time playing. =/ There's little to no replay value either. The puzzles and such are always the same. After playing the original I saw the Myst Anniversary Edition for $20! That was Myst, Riven (the sequel to Myst), and Myst Exile all in one package!!! Riven was even better than Myst in all areas! Exile....I didn't like the forest level. Other than that, it was awesome! Now there's Myst Revelation that I just purchased for $20 and am about to install. I got my friend hooked on Myst and he immediately bought Revelation. Since he got it first, he let me try it out.... Myst Revelation is one of the most beautiful and best-sounding games I've ever played!!! I rarely praise a game for its graphics and sound, but Myst Revelation just blew me away! The gameplay and story were just as good as ever too! The camera in the game actually focuses on the object you're pointing at. This game isn't photo-realistic, but it's getting very close! Seeing a cloud cover the sun and the lighting adjust appropriately.... Wow.... These games are amazing and getting better with each new game, but it's rare to find someone who has even heard of the games. =( I'd say that the Myst games definitely qualify for this topic. =/

One game that I liked for the Commadore and Atari computers was M.U.L.E. . A game where you and three other players are getting a planet ready for colonazation. You buy property and either plant crops, collect solar energy, or mine minerals, with the M.U.L.E. ( Multi Useful Labor Element ). The fun thing is, if the three other players scores is half of your score, it will tell you that you also get to be the governor of the new colony.

I know the Yoshi game you're talking about! I also have Yoshi's Cookie, another puzzle game.
I think my fav obscure game would be Glover on the N64.

Another game that just came to memory that I played and liked is:
Alternate Reality, an RPG were you are abducted by a U.F.O. and taken to another world, and you need to find your way back. They made the City and the Dungeon modules, but the three other modules they didn't get around to make. It was an interesting game where if you attacked anything ( meaning if a sewer rat attacks you, you need to run away ) it made your alignment go towards evil. But the more kindness you do, it leans you more to good.

Hm... Super Mario Sunshine. Its where this person imersonating you (Mario) messes up your vacation, and you are blamed and sent to clean everything up. The impersonator also steals "Shine Sprites" which... uh... make the sun come out Anyway, he also kidnaps Peach (numerous times) and you have to rescue her. There are also all these little mini-games. Its pretty fun. Also, Luigi's Mansion is kinda cool, too. Mario's held hostage in a haunted mansion, and you (Luigi) have to save him. Yeah.
