Well, I guess I'll use this topic to post my game status (if anyone cares). I've been working on getting the valuable clockwork items in my jdlloyd account. So far I have everything I need for a clockwork item or two except for clockwork keys. I can't get a single key to drop! I've even started training my gravy fairy familiar (increases frequency of item drops) and still no luck! >_<; Well, once I get out of ronin mode (after ascending softcore, you have 1000 turns without being able to recieve anything from other players), I'll pay someone to use the Phat Loot buff on me. That'll help increase item drops too. I'll get those clockwork items eventually! =P

In my jackofallgames account, I'm long out of ronin mode. I've just been trying to train and finish as many quests as I can. I only have one quest left before I can access the final quest and ascend again. Before that, I need to grow a minimum of 5 levels though (so that'll be a while). XP

Oh yeah, if anyone cares, today is a mysticality day. The moon phases have a few different effects on the game. When the moons are as they are now, all mysticality gains are multiplied by 1.5

It's a good day for Pastamancers, Saucerors, or any class that wants to have higher Mysticality and MP. =)

While the Ronald (one of the moons) is full like it is today, resting at the campsite restores double the usual MP too. =)

Is this for all of July 4th, or is it on some sort of game-time or whatnot?

The fact that it's on July 4th is just a coincidence. If you just want the short answer, it'll last most of the day today, yes. The game operates in realtime but the definition of when the day starts/ends is a bit different (and changes slightly). The end of the day has been 10:15pm EST the past few days, but it's usually somewhere close to 10:30pm EST.

More info: The moon phases change daily. Ronald shifts phases daily while Grimace changes phases every other day. "Rollover" is what happens every night starting somewhere between 10:15pm and 10:45pm EST and then usually lasting 15-30 minutes. That's when the game closes for a short while and the makers can makes whatever changes and stuff they want (without worrying about messing things up while people are playing the game). After maintenance is done, the game opens back up and the next day begins. That is when the moon phases change, the new day's adventures are added, drunkenness and fullness are reset, etc. So at about 10:30pm EST (give or take 15 minutes), the day will end and the Mysticality bonus will be gone until the next time the moons align correctly. The next Mysticality day is Tuesday after next (the 12th). Coming up on the 8th and 9th are Muscle days where that stat will get a 1.5 multiplier. Then Moxie gets 2 days as well - the 15th and 16th. Each stat gets 2 days out of 16 for the 1.5 multiplier. Muscle and Moxie get two days next to each other, but Mysticality is spread out evenly - every 8 days. Does that make sense?

Another random fact about KoL that came to mind: You know how you'll get forty to fifty-something adventures per day (at rollover)? Well, that only happens up to 200 adventures. If you have 182 adventures and have 45 coming for the next day, you'll have 200 after rollover - not 227. If you have 200 adventures or more, you won't get any. If you don't use your adventures, there it a point where they won't keep collecting.

No problem! =) I'm pretty well-off in the game. I don't mind giving out some stuff on occasion. =) You'd be surprised how easy it is to get lots of meat later in the game. You once you get a shop in the mall, that can really bring in the meat too! ^_^

Ah! Yeah, that's one of the lesser food items. It can be used for something else if you have the right item though....

Well, if anyone cares, here's my game status (which may contain some minor spoilers):

jdlloyd810: I finally got around to buying a store in this account. I just never bothered before, but I figured I might as well. I've finally started getting clockwork items too. Now that I'm able to make this valuable clockwork stuff (some of which sells in the mall at 100,000 meat per item), I thought I'd buy a store so I can make some dough. Well, I guess I'm going to be using most in search of more clockwork items.....at least for a while. Eventually I'll get back to leveling up and trying to ascend again.

jackofallgames: I'm still working on leveling up in this account. I can now survive in the Penultimate Fantasy Airship pretty well. I'm barely able to survive the Castle in the Clouds in the Sky though. =/ That's probably my favorite place to level up. Once I can survive that area (right now I can only last for around 3-4 adventures at a time without healing), that'll be where I train. I've also been working on leveling up some of my familiars. I now have all the normal and ascension familiars in this account as well as 2 Mr. Store familiars. If I level up all my familiars, I may be able to get the Black Hole Trophy (I think it's something like 300 pounds in your terrarium that gets that one for you)! ^_^

....and it looks like KoL is back up. Time to do some more adventuring! ^_^

Interesting....I just now noticed that I'm not the only jdlloyd playing KoL. Seeing this, I thought it might be good to mention something. My account is NOT "jdlloyd" in the game. Sooo.....anyone else play/join KoL? So far Butters joined and Allmighty might. I'm a bit surprised that with a popular game like KoL and a large site like this, no one here seems to have known about (or played) this game before. =/ Well, if anyone's new to the game, I'd be happy to send some free stuff your way to help out! =) If you've already been playing KoL, I don't know whether I could help you much, but I could probably give you a freebie of some sort too. =)

KoL really is a pretty fun game. It may seem a bit confusing at first, but it follows a pretty simple formula. You just have to play 'til you get the hang of it. I'd be more than happy to help anyone out with the game too. =)

Out of curiousity, Butters, did you ever find the hidden use of the cottage cheese? The answer is really quite simple....it's just not the type of thing that most people would think of right away. You probably have the item you'd need to use with it. =)

*yawn* Well, I'm done adventuring as jdlloyd810 for today. Today I finally got around to making a full clockwork outfit for myself as well as some clockwork spheres (to be used later), and a couple clockwork items I gave away. Well, at least I managed to use up a lot of my extra keys. ^_^

Out of curiousity, anyone want a clockwork item? I can't do too many, but I can probably make one more today (maybe two). I'll be able to make more tomorrow though. I just thought I'd see if anyone's interested. The clockwork stuff comes in a 3-piece outfit (although you must have the torso awaregness ascension-only skill to equip the shirt), 2 familiars (a mech and a grapefruit ), and it can do anything a brainy skull can but better (maids, chefs, bartenders, and detectives). I'm a bit short on beer lenses and chef's hats though. I might be able to find those though.

Well, I can't do too many of these, but I'd be glad to make something free for maybe the first 4 people that message my jdlloyd810 account (although since Butters is probably the only other person on this site that's played KoL, I doubt I'll have a problem with too many people asking. ).

If anyone has questions about what exactly the items are or what they do, I'd be glad to give more info on that stuff. =)
