Prologue: There aren’t very many citizens in Mineral Town; Karen is one, and she helps her father, Jeff, run the supermarket for a very long time. Karen’s life is always the same; every night they wouldn’t get very many customers at all, Karen’s parents would begin to blame each other and engage into a nuclear war, and Karen would leave all depressed to go to the bar and challenge the owner of Aja Winery named Duke, to a drinking contest. Karen has lived in Mineral Town for as long as she could remember. Mayor Thomas, The mayor of Mineral Town, always used to organize exciting festivals every year, but They eventually started to become boring. Karen became very tired of Mineral Town through The years and she plans on moving out once she turns eighteen on her birthday. But after she hears a crazy rumor about a new festival, and a cute new guy has moved in, she can’t resist.
Chapter 1: Eighteen at last
Eyelid cracked slightly, I was still groggy from last night’s drink. I tried to sit up in my bed, But a nasty taste in my mouth and the most horrible pain in my upper sinuses stopped me dead. I grimaced, as with each breath a sharp pain would erupt in my head. As I lay helplessly on the surface of my blankets, I heard the same familiar clack sound equal to that of my father’s. It was hard just to raise my own hand. This wasn’t very unusual for me. It was, of course, a hangover I was having, yet they seemed to get worse every morning. My father opened the door, his mouth gaped open in the usual fashion that he knew I was drinking under my age again. After all, I was of course, only eighteen. In Mineral Town though, it wasn’t such a big deal for someone to drink at eighteen. In fact, that was the official drinking age here, so I already knew why my father was pissed. Well Jeff had visited the city before, and the age was twenty-one there. I had once explained to him that we are in the boonies and not the city now, so we yet need to worry about their official drinking policies and what-not. But I swear to Goddess my father was always stressed about something. Plus if you pile the fact onto his shoulders that my mother Sasha was always entangled in some kind of a quarrel with him, then you learn to respect the reason he was always so melancholy. But every day? That would be something to think about on my part, as in every battle Sasha swore to the Harvest Goddess she would divorce him, she never did. But as the time in my life slipped through my reach like sand, they began to become more backed-off each other every day. It seemed that if Jeff had said even the sound of the word money, it looked like my mother would burst open and begin to beat him up like some kind of gang member. The pain in my ears and forehead finally felt better, because I no longer winced in pain when my father spoke words to me, although I couldn’t understand them that well. Finally came to my senses after he started to point a finger at me, and I sat up in my bed. After a bit of mumbled swearing, Jeff finally began to break the silence, and barked out things such as “Big” “Trouble” and “Young lady” at me. I just shrugged and nodded with each phrase so he would eventually leave me alone. “You hear me?? I mean it! I don’t care if you are an adult now!” “You still live under my roof and you will follow my rule-” He trailed off, because Sasha interrupted him. He shook timidly at the sight of his wife. “What are you scolding her for now?!” She yelled loudly. He muttered something I couldn’t understand, but I barely made out one of the things he was saying that sounded like “She”. I slowly pushed up off the bed and tried my best to run towards the bathroom, aching everywhere. The voices of the fight echoed through the halls of the house as I scrambled into the bathroom, head hanging over the toilet. I flushed the results down, still clutching my belly with one hand, and wiped my mouth with the other. I hopped into the shower hastily, banging my ankle on the side, resulting in many curse words coming from my mouth. After I took my shower, I took off the shower cap I had put on once I had gone into the shower, brushed my teeth, combed my hair, and spat out the disgusting taste of mint tooth paste and alcohol into the sink. I strapped and pulled on my under garments, and cloaked my self in a gorgeous, green, velveteen dress that matched my eyes perfectly. It fitted tightly, showing off my sleek figure, plus I pinned a velvet, purple rose pin into my glittery, blonde strands of hair. “This is perfect!” I said a bit quietly so no one could hear. “Today is my birthday, I’m now officially an adult, and I’m sure the cute new farmer coming to town’s face will change colors once I give him the tour of Mineral town, and he sees me in this beautiful, brand-new dress!” I heard the doorbell ring, then I blushed a bit and my face lit up. I hollered “Good-bye” to my parents and, opened the door to find the most handsome man I had ever seen. His brown tinted hair was flopped a bit messily atop his head, he had on an off-white colored shirt, along with rough, navy overalls, white working gloves, brown farm-type boots, a ruffled scarlet bandana, and a chubby, light brown rucksack that was packed full to bursting with farming supplies was hanging casually off his shoulders by two stringy pieces of leather that seemed like they would tear any second. His face was warm and friendly looking. He had deep, brown eyes, an adorable tiny nose, and the shape and look of his face made my heart sing. Finally I leapt back into reality once I heard the sound of his beautiful voice enter my ears. “Hello, your name must be…hmm…let’s see…Katy, right?” He said cheerfully. “Actually, it’s Karen, but it’s a pleasure to meet you!” I said quickly, becoming very red in the face as I replayed the sound of his voice in my head continuously. “Of course I should have known that...” He muttered a bit disappointedly, but then he perked right back up again. “Well it sure is a pleasure meeting you too!” I grinned after I heard him speak once again. “This was going to be the beginning of a beautiful relationship!” I thought happily.

Nice story! I think it's always interesting to see it from the girl's pov.
However, paragraphs would help.
