Save The Farm! Chapter 4: Van
Once Jack got home, he sat down and thought about what had happened yesterday. He had been asked to sell his land, he was attacked, his dog was kicked... All for a farm? There had to be something more to all this. Was there a fortune hidden here? Do these people just like to hurt people?
He got up and went outside. Maybe he would talk with these men. They might be at the beach. He grabbed his Teleport Stone and warped to the beach.
There was a fairly large tent pitched there. He went to the tent, but it was empty. Jack was struck with fear. These men were parading in the village at this moment. Just before he could turn around, he was dealt a mighty blow to the head.

Jack woke up to find himself in the hospital.
"Good morning Jack." Doc said. "You look better." "Arrgh. My head." "Yes, it was a bad hit." Doc said. "You've been out for two days." "Two days!?" Jack yelled. "That means I missed the Races and... and... what happened to my farm?" "Easy there. Yes, you missed the Horse Races and Ann and the Harvest Sprites took care of the farm."
Just as Doc finished saying this, Ann burst in to the room and ran straight to Jack. "Jack! Jack! Are you all right!?" She began kissing him all over his face. "Hey! Slow down! I'm fine!" Jack got out of the bed. Doc said he was free to go, but come here right away if something should happen. Jack thanked Doc for his help.
Jack and Ann walked out of the hospital. "So, did anything bad happen while I was out?" Jack asked Ann. "Nope. Oh, that merchant that you like to buy from is here." "Van's here? Good."
They walked to the Inn together. Jack went upstairs to see Van. "Hey Van!" Jack said cheerfully. "How's it going?" "Hey Jack." repiled Van. Van spotted the bandage under Jack's cap. "What happened?" "Long story." Jack proceeded to tell Van what happened to him over the past few days. At the end of his story, Van was looking at him funny. "Odd, very odd." Van was mumbling. "What is it?" "Well," Van replied, "The farm in Forget-Me-Not Valley is having similar problems."
Jack was startled by this news. He asked Van further and it turned out that that farm was owned by a girl and was having more trouble than his.
"Wow. Poor her. Any serious damage?" "If you mean getting knocked out, no. Just crops destroyed, litter everywhere and animals scared at night.
Jack thanked Van and went home for some serious thinking, which kinda hurt at this time.

Chapter 5: Wild Nights and Zack's partner
With only 10 days left of Spring, Jack wished that there would be no more problems. And there wasn't. Yet, before he went to bed every night, he heard Kirby chasing off some wild dog.
"Good boy, Kirby." Jack thought. "Keep at it."
Spring 30 came, and the Sprites were busy harvesting the cabbages that wern't vandalized. Elli had given Jack some free Bodigizer XLs from his time in the hospital and he used them to keep up his energy as he prepared his farm for summer. As Jack worked, he lost track of time. He drank another Bodigizer and checked his watch. "Uh-oh. It's so late. That last dose will keep me up for half the night. Oh well."
At 9PM, his farm looked a lot different, especially with no crops planted. It looked haunted and bare... The thought of this sent chills down his spine. Or was that the weird growl he heard? Jack raced to the north side of his farm. Kirby was blocking the way of a stubborn wild dog. Jack could see that Kirby's body was ready to drop at any minute. He was tired. Jack scooped up Kirby and quickly put him in the house. Something was strange about all this. This stray was... different. He noticed something that sent even more chills down his spine. The dog was foaming white at the mouth. It had rabies. So that was it! All these late nights of Kirby chasing strays had left him tired and he didn't have the strength to fight off this dog!
"Oh crap." Jack said. "Well, if you won't leave, I'll make you!"
Jack pulled out his hammer and sickle. He only wanted to injure the dog and send it away, but then what? Send the infested animal into town? He had no choice but to try and keep the dog here.
A loud growl pulled Jack from his thoughts. The dog had begun running towards him. Jack got his hammer ready....
WHAM!
As the dog and the hammer connected, Mythic won over canine and the dog went flying. Jack hoped that was it, but no. The dog got up and raced at him again. Time and time again, the dog would not give up. Swinging the hammer around like a bat was tiring Jack. At one point, one swing sent the dog flying and the hammer flew out of Jack's hands.
"Uh-oh... I'm don't have much stamina left... Better end this now."
Jack took his sickle and stuck it out behind his back. The charging process had begun. The dog raced towards him. Jack's face turned red with concentration. The dog got closer. The golden aura outlined his body. The dog was so close now... and leaped! Mythic flames engulfed Jack's body and he released its power. As he spun, he heard a sickening squish. After the spin, he looked at his sickle. The stray was shishkabobed on his sickle.
"Oh... yuck... Zack will know how to get rid of the body..." Jack left the body lying there and got a few hours sleep before heading out to Zack's house.
At 5:30AM, Jack picked up the sickle and teleported to the beach. Zack was outside his house talking to someone. He rushed by and showed Zack the sickle.
"What the...? Jack what happened?" Jack relayed the story of last night's events to Zack. After that, it was only then he noticed the other person.
The man smiled. "I don't believe we've met." "Oh, yes." Zack smiled. "Jack, met Takakura, my partner in the Valley." Jack shook hands with Tak. "Partner?" "I have a Teleport Stone." Tak said. " I crate up the farm's goods, leave the valley and teleport here, give Zack my stuff and leave before anyone in Mineral Town knows I've been here. But it looks like I've been found out." "So you have a Teleport Stone? Does anybody else know?" Jack asked. "Yeah I do, but no one except Zack, me and now you know I have it." Tak replied. "Wow, every here knows I have one." Jack said. "They trust me enough that I won't burst in on them." Zack intervined "Sorry to interupt, but what do you expect me to do with a dead, rabies-infested dog? It certainly can't participate on the frisbee festival today." "Oh, yeah, do you think you can get rid of it?" "Sure I can. But man, you have all the bad luck now." "You know Jack," Tak said, "You seem to be handling the mishaps of your farm better than we are in the valley. Maybe you could help us?" "Uh, sure..." "Great... Then it's settled. You can come during the summer and help us out. You'll be hearing from me." Tak pulled out his Teleport Stone, yellow compared to Jack's purple, and left.
"Well, looks like you'll be going on a trip." Zack said. " You better get home and start planting those pineapples if you want to be on time for the Frisbee festival. A shame Kirby can't compete this year." "Pineapples!" Jack exclaimed. "I almost forgot! While I'm here, do you think you can get Won up and sell me some more seeds?" "Sure!" Zack laughed. "I'll see what I can do."
Jack thought about Tak's words. "Handling it better? I just killed a dog. Well, maybe he just wants help..."
As they went inside, neither of them saw the pair of eyes that were watching intently from the tent pitched at the edge of the beach.
