^(Mush Mouth style  After 6 months of dragging myself around town, asking for and filling out applications, and getting rejected again and again, I finally found another job! A couple months back, I had heard there was an opening there, and applied for it. I didn't get it, but apparently, my application was still considered valid, and they called me in for an interveiw a couple days after I returned home from Arizona. The manager called me yesterday evening to tell me I was in, and today was my first day. The job has definitely got some perks, the work couldn't be easier, and the pay ain't half bad. Whats more, everybody is totally nice, and the managers told me that as long as I hold my tongue, (which is a mistake I'm not about to make twice, after everything that's happened in the last half year!) they'll throw people out that come and try to bother me, so the McNeils aren't gonna be able to screw another job up for me! Oh, and Dad and I went out to eat again after we got off work from our respective jobs, and then went to the track. Buddy got a shipment of some new cars in today, including a 1/32 Carrera model of a Petty blue 1970 Plymouth Superbird (if you've seen cars, "The King" was a 70' Superbird), which dad bought me since he wasn't able to find me one of the cars I wanted before Christmas. I have to go to bed now, I need to be back at work at 10:30 tommorow.  |

Well, they've fired me.
I busted my ass for 6 months, getting shot down, again and again, trying to find a job. I finally get one, and after only two days, I ruin it with a stupid comment, which was completely misunderstood.
I've gotta be the biggest loser and moron on the face of the earth.
I'm gonna try to talk to the boss again, but I don't think it's going to work.

It didn't. But at least now I know it wasn't because of what I said: apparently, just because I spilled a couple things and got a little water on the floor when I did the ditches (he claims I "flooded the kitchen" : , he jumped to the assumption that I'm mentally handicapped, and that I wasn't "safe" in the kitchen. He didn't say it, but I could tell by his tone, and the way he looked at me: the same look people have been giving me for years. Screw 'em, those idiots have been known to expect way too much from their employees for a long time, and I'm far from the first person to work there to get fired so quickly. A friend of mine told me the local paper is hiring people to do deliveries, so maybe I could do that. If that doesn't work, I might just give up. I've applied to just about everywhere in this one-horse town that could conceivably hire me at least twice, and every one of them has turned me down (even McDonald's, for cryng out loud), so I don't see the point anymore, when I've barely made any money from the jobs that I did get, and both have only gotten me really upset in the end, and since I'm moving in August anyway. |

Oh don't worry. I got fired from my first job.
Then again, that was because of economic reasons. But trust me, there are always more jobs, hon!

I got fired from Round Table back in September. May I suggust a utility worker in a grocery store?? Heh, you really are the board "mom" aren't you? My own mother has suggested that job to me several times. Unfortunately, it's probably not going to happen, as the only grocery store in town called the police on me the other day. |
