Harvest Moon: A Tale of a Father and his Daughter

My second fanfic! Don't worry still workin' on the first one...Writer's block

Charactors:

Jack: A strong hard working, single man. His wife died after giving birth to thier child. Has trouble showing affection.

Sarah: A 8 year old girl, very clumsy and has diffculties keeping friends. Loves her father but wishes she had a mother as well.

Hugh: Tries to become friends with Sarah but sometimes has trouble keeping his patients

Kate: A young girl with attitude and a short fuse. Dislikes Sarah because she messes up everything she does.

(Charactors aren't done yet...When I add more I'll modify it.)



Harvest Moon: A Father and His Daughter

Chapter 1

"Daddy, daddy wake up! It's a special day today!EYelled Sarah, jumping onto her father's bed. "Guess what today is!E
Jack rolled over to face his daughter. "Your birthday. Now get off and let me sleep more.E
"But-"
"Go.EHe grouched.

Sarah sadly went back to her room.

After an hour or so, her dad called her to breakfast.

She hopped up onto a chair and ate her eggs and bacon.

"So dad,"She said gulping down her food. "Do I get a present?"

"I guess.EHe sighed getting up.

He walked over to one of the kitchen drawers.

"Here"Jack said taking a small box out of the drawer and tossing it to her.

"Thanks daddy!"Sarah beamed.

She opened the box only to find a small cupcake.

"Um...Thank you."She sighed taking it out.

She was disappointed. Sarah didn't have her hopes high because her father never got her anything really nice, but this year she really and truly hoped it would be different that year.

She ate the cupcake and went outside to play while Jack did his work.

Sarah picked flowers and explored the forest. Then she decided to make sandcastles on the beach so she went back to the house to find a pail.

She couldn't find one in the house so she went to the barn. Her dad didn't like it when she went in there but she was just in there for a moment.

She entered the barn and looked around until she saw a metal pail in the corner. Sarah snatched it and headed for the beach.

When she arrived she was happy to see that Kate and Hugh, were there.

“Hey guys are you building a sand castle?ESarah asked running up to them.

"Oh-no here comes Sarah. She'll mess everything up.EKate whispered to Hugh.

"Can I-"But before she could finish her sentence she tripped and fell, wrecking they're castle.

"Aw man..." Hugh said sadly.

"You're always so clumsy!EKate yelled, jumping up. "Come on Hugh let's go play somewhere else!E
Kate grabbed Hugh's hand and dragged him away.

"Bye Sarah!" Hugh called out.

Sarah waved and sighed. "I wish I had some friends..."

She plopped down in the sand and started scooping sand into her bucket with her hands.

I feel so sad for little Sarah. It's her birthday, her own special day, and all she gets is a cupcake.

[Butterscotch]

Poor little Sarah! ;_;

Chapter 2

"Sarah!!!" Sarah heard her dad call from across the valley.

She cringed as he marched up to her with an angry look on his face.

"Where's my milk pail?"

"Um..." Sarah said looking behind her at the pail filled with sand.

Jack sighed trying to calm himself. "Get it for me, please."
"Yes daddy."
She got up and emptied the sand out and gave it to her father.

"What have I told you about going into the barn?EJack asked.

She put her head down. "That I shouldn't go in without permission."
"Well, just don't do it again." He turned away. Went going back to work, go play with your friends or somethingE
"If I had any." She whispered to herself.

Sarah decided she would take a walk.

She walked to the forest and picked some flowers, then went to the ranch down the road.

"Hey, Sarah.ECelia greeted her.

"Hi, Miss. Celia!ESarah smiled up at her then down at her flowers. "Here!ESarah handed out a a toy flower.

"Aw, thank you!ECelia exclaimed talking a flower. You're so sweet"E
"Hey!ESaid loud voice that made the girls jumped.

It was Vesta.

Vesta rushed over. "Sarah, come here please"
"Um, um, ok." Sarah said nervously. Her dad had told her that she shouldn't go anywhere with anyone without permission.

Eventually she talked herself into going.

Marlin, Celia, Vesta and Sarah all walked to Romana's Villa.

"Um, why are we going to the villa?ESarah asked everyone.

"We have some business with Romana and you looked like you didn't have anything to do so we wanted you to come with us"ECelia explained.

"But I wasn't bored" Sarah mumbled, but no one responded.

Soon they were there, Sarah thought she saw someone in the window, but when she looked again there wasn't anything there.

Vesta knocked on the door. "Hello! It's Vesta"
"Come in!" Called Romana from the other side.

They opened the door to the villa but the room was dark.

All at once the lights came on and everyone sprang up.

"SURPRISE!!"EEverybody sang.

"Whoa!" Sarah gasped. "Thanks everyone!"

She looked around, everyone in forget-me- not valley was there, except the one person she really wanted to be there, her dad.

Chapter 3

"Which one do you want to open first?" Flora asked Sarah.

She stared at the presents.

"There's so many...Um, I guess..That one." Sarah said pointing to a yellow box with red polka dots and a red bow on top.

Lumina picked up the present and gave it to Sarah.

Sarah grabbed the present gently and unwrapped it.

She smiled as she pulled out a blue ball.

"Thanks...Um..."She looked at the tag. "Wally."

"Exercise is the most important thing!" Wally said boldly jumping up. "It keeps your heart strong and you mind keen!"

"Uh, ok." Sarah wasn't quiet sure what to do. "Can I have the red bag, Miss. Lumina."

Lumina passed the bag her way.

She took the bag and pulled out the tissue paper and a shiny pink hair clip.

"Who's this from?"

Everyone was quiet.

"Well, whoever it was, thank you very much."

After opening many gifts of clothes, hair things, toys and sweets, there was one present left.

"Last one." Lumina announced picking up the last present and handing it to Sarah.

It was a plain blue bag with a card inside.

She pulled out the card to read it but surprisingly there was a little note attached telling her to open the gift first.

She followed the directions on the note and seared the bag for the present, a pretty pink frilly dress, with a ribbon around the waist and a matching bow for her straight brown hair.

"Wow..." Was all she could say.

"Look at the card." Nami suggested.

Sarah pulled out the card and tore it open.

"Dear Sarah,

Please forgive me for not being there, I had a lot of work to do.

Anyway, please wear this dress for any special occasion that will be held in the future. I'm sure you'll look cute.

Love,
Dad"

Sarah smiled as she read it aloud.

After the party ended Celia volunteered to walk Sarah home.

"So did you enjoy the party?" Celia asked looking down at her.

She nodded.

They walked in silence for a little while.

"So, are you disappointed that your dad didn't come?"

"No," Sarah replied rubbing her eyes sleepily.

"You're tired aren't you?"

"A little..." She yawned.

"We're almost there." Celia stated.

They arrived at the farm and Celia left for her own house.

"Dad, Are you up?" Saarh asked.

Her only reply was a snore from his room.

So she went into her own room and put everything away and went to bed for a nice long rest.

I fixed the computer mistakes and just a few spelling mistakes. Awesome!

There seems to be some funny characters in the story that makes it hard to read.
