Notes: So Avegaille, a friend of mine, posted an LJ entry showing off Flora. The blonde girl in the glasses and I made a random comment saying that her and Mary would look good together and replied that it would indeed make a kinky pairing. XD
Enjoy
Unlikely Crush Mary/Flora Mary spent a lot of her time in the library. Whenever Flora went to Mineral Town's local liabrary, she would always see Mary. Flora always wondered what she was reading; it was the only thing she saw her do. Raven hair, thick glasses and plain blue dress over a white top. Well, if she wasn't reading, she would be working as a librarian.
Surely, she must be hiding something. Mary is so shy all the time, too timid to come out of her shell. Mary worked hard, but never seemed to want anything else in return. The blonde noticed that Mary blushed a lot. Not that that's a bad thing, she loved the way she smiled; very welcoming.
Flora saw a lot of qualities about her, more than Mary knew herself. Her smile, was light, gentle and enlightening. When Mary smiled, she had the urge to smile too. Her hair was quite nice too, long shiny night hair. Mary had some lovely eyes, and the glasses enhance her intelligence. She was sure that her eyes would look great without them, too. Okay, she had to admit, her clothes were a bit boring. But, she sure had a great figure. To sum it up, Mary was adorable. Not only was she sweet in looks, her personality felt like delicious honey. Kindness in her blood flowing through her veins, blossomed into her personality.
Flora spied on her, watching Mary move around the library. She was smiling, she seemed to enjoy the book very much. Mary's feet flew around the floor like a bird in the wind. It was adorable watching her move around like a ballerina. The library was deserted today, and Flora sometimes liked to sneak in. She quickly predicted what was going to happen if they caught eye contact.
That eye contact would lead to soft scarlet cheeks under glasses.
These feelings were a mystery to Flora. Feeling like this about a boy was fine, but about a girl... it wasn't normal round these parts and not even at forget-me-not valley. All the lads would work their socks off to impress the lady they want, in the hope of marrying, raising a family and prosper to their farm. Mineral Town had a good reputation for a peaceful life. What if lesbianism killed that peace? There was nothing wrong with it, no one minded it just felt unnatural.
"Hey Mary!" Flora called. Mary tripped up on her feet and it began to rain books. Flora approached her, holding her arm up. "Are you alright?" she asked in concern.
Just as Flora expected, Mary's blushing was bright, yet a sweet warm tone that suited her swell.
"I-I... fine, thank you, Flora." Mary was speechless of what happened to her. "I'll have to tidy this all up!"
"I'll help you!" Flora decided picking up some books. As both of the girls started putting the books back on their right shelves again, Mary apologized, "sorry, I sometimes tend to get carried away by good books."
"So I saw," Flora responded watching her again. She wanted to chat her up, but she didn't want to cause any further embarrassment to Mary. Mary's eyes seemed to sparkle, so it might not have been the right time. She wasn't sure if she should say it was cute or not, so she decided not to think about it. "So what were you reading?" Flora asked out of curiosity.
"I was.... reading a les- lesbi- story where these two girls are in love..." Mary stuttered, weather it was because of the shock of the fall or about the book, Flora had no idea.
"What's the title, and what's it about?"
Mary came to her senses and explained about the book, "It's called Graceful Butterflies. It's about a girl named Carol, who had a tragic life who meets up with Grace and she takes her to a new world but she has to seek revenge in order to gain the privileges. It's a fun and interesting story-line. Grace and Carol have a deep love affair going on."
"Sounds exciting," Flora nodded, although she didn't seem too interested in the idea, she liked listening to her voice.
"I like writing stories myself," Mary admitted, "I get inspiration from reading other books I see. Romance, adventure, suspense are my favorite genres. I like to read fan fiction on the net as well."
"You must really enjoy literature in general."
"Yeah I do, a lot."
"So I assume you've read the Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer?" Flora asked.
"I have, I liked the romance between Bella and Edward, but I didn't... like the plot idea so much. Sorry, sometimes insane twilight fans scare me, so it's kind of a guilty pleasure, if you know what I mean?"
"Yeah," Flora replied, "It's so popular, that the fan girls are insane. Nice to see a sane and intelligent one for once."
"Well, thanks." Mary nodded, "I also enjoy the Vampirate series too."
"Never heard of that one before," Flora admitted, to her it sounded like Mary had a great taste in literature and she respected the fact she liked writing. Flora would love to have read stuff written from Mary, she was her crush after-all.
"Well," Mary showed her a copy of the book, a vicious ship with scarlet ocean was on the cover. "The story is about Connor and Grace, they're twins who get seperated in a storm, Grace goes on the vampirates ship and Connor goes on a ship named Dialgo. I love the relationship between Lorcan and Grace, I would like them to be together."
Flora spotted that Mary was going rather quicker than normal, but she could understand her clearly. Flora was keen on this book, if this was the sort of thing that inpired Mary to write, then Mary could be one hell of a fine authoress. Flora could kiss her now, but not yet, this needed more time.
