I hope to change the title as soon as I think of something better. ^^; Unfortunately I can't really think of anything better to call it right now, so I'm sorta stuck with this. ^^ *is bad at thinking of titles*
The main character is NOT a self-insert character or an OC. It's a crossover. It's my first HM fic in a looong time so sorry if the characters are OoC. Oh, and this takes place in AWL. (...crossovers go in HM fanfics if they're set in HM, right? ._. Sorry if this is the wrong place! ^^)
Chapter One
A girl sat on a beach, watching the sun set. She had long, black hair, and red eyes which matched the sky. She was wearing a black kimono with a design of flowers which almost seemed to jump out at you. The setting sun is so beautiful... but somehow it seems sort of familiar in an odd way. She thought. She did not know where she was, but right now she didn't really care. It didn't really seem important. Somebody approached her. It was a blond girl with glasses and purple eyes. "Hello. I'm Flora, who are you? Are you a traveler? We don't get many new people here." "I do not know." she replied, speaking in a quiet voice. Not shy-quiet, but almost like a whisper, except it was her normal voice. "You don't know? You don't know what?" "Who I am. Or my purpose of being here." "Um... huh? What's your name?" "I do not know." Flora decided that there was clearly something wrong with her - she appeared to be around 13 years old, which was definitely old enough to know her own name. "What do you mean you don't know?" "I cannot recall my name." Amnesia? Unless this is some sort of joke... "Umm, maybe... would it perhaps be a good idea, if you talked to the town's doctor? If you can't remember things, he could probably help you..." she tried "I like the sunset. But why is it turning dark? Isn't it always supposed to be red and orange?" she asked, ignoring the comment about the doctor for now "No... see, night comes and since the sun is going down, the moon goes up..." she explained, unsure how much the girl would understand "I suppose, then, I could see him when the moon rises." She sweatdropped. He would probably be asleep by then, since Dr. Hardy wasn't exactly young anymore. But it was worth a try, since she couldn't just leave the girl there like this. So they waited until the sun had set. The girl stood up. "Where is the doctor?" Flora led the way, with the girl following. They arrived at Dr. Hardy's and she knocked on the door. "What is it?" he asked, opening the door Flora indicated the girl, who was looking up at the stars. "She seems to have lost her memory or something... she doesn't know why she's here, or even her name." "I will talk to her and see if that's the cause, and what I can do. But there is often little that can be done about amnesia." "Ok. In the meantime, I'm going to try to find a place for her to stay for now." Dr. Hardy nodded, then said to the girl, "Come inside." She did, looking around the small building. It was no more than the size of a house, although it was supposed to be a clinic. "So, Flora - that's the girl you were talking to earlier - tells me you're having trouble remembering things?" "Yes." she answered "What is your name?" She thought about it, but came up with nothing. "I still do not know." "Ok... what is the earliest thing you can remember? Take your time to think about it." Vaguely, she recalled something about red... like the sunset. She didn't know what it was though. A string or something? "Finding myself at a beach and watching the sunset." "Besides being at the beach, watching the sunset, talking to Flora, and coming here, is there anything else you can remember? Anything at all?" "...A red string." He did a few more tests and things before making his diagnosis - she definitely had bad amnesia, but other than that she was fine. Just then Flora came. "I found a place she can stay!" she told them "Good. Well then, go with her. I'd like you to come back tomorrow morning, alright?" The girl nodded. Once they were outside the office, Flora said, "I guess we should think of a name to call you, huh? Since we can't always just say 'you' or 'girl'. Can you think of any name in particular you'd like?" She shook her head, so Flora asked, "How about Nanako?" "That is fine."
<(^-^)>@ Cookies for anyone who figures out who Nanako really is! x3

Unless Butters says otherwise, I don't see a problem with it. Though I suggest what it is being cross-overed with should be mentioned.
And no, don't know who Nanako is, either.
