I have Vesperia, but I haven't beaten it yet. Also, one of my favorite games of all time is ToS. It was so epic and beautiful. I think that the sequal was...pretty terrible though. I hate Emil, he's such a wuss. The ending was good though.

Still wish it hadn't been so rushed since most of the new characters were interesting and deserved better. ToS was great, but I like most of the other Tales games better because of the improved battle system and characters (ToT excluded, of course). Tales of the Abyss is still one of my favorites because of Luke and Jade.

Yeah, Alice and Decus were awesome. Along with Richter, who is pretty much my favorite. It really sucks that there was NO WORLD MAP. Man, I think that was really stupid. One of the worst things to take out of a game.

I didn't mind the lack of a world map, but then again it probably wouldn't have been that bad since there wasn't much backtracking. The only thing that bugged me was that skits were so easy to miss because you usually had to wait a bit before they came up.

Don't forget about Tales of Phantasia. It's also a sequel for Tales of Symphonia, despite it being like 3,000 years later.
Also, is there any Final Fantasy character that you think would be able to put into a Tales game without it being too much?
I was playing Dissidia, and I had the urge to put Ganbranth in ToS, with plot being that he was sent somewhere else for redeeming, and he had to show Lloyd that hatred is not a path for power (because honestly, Lloyd hates a lot of things despite being nice and he always wants to get stronger so he can achieve peace.) Mist=Mana, and all that good stuff.
I also saw Kratos in Tales of Vesperia, and was thinking of a nice little crossover between that and ToS.

Ok, fought [spoilers]Kratos (or Traitor to Heaven as his beastiary entry calls him),[/spoilers]
regretted it. I barely managed to pull off a win against him because for some reason he doesn't seem to want to stop moving even when I chain combo him XD
Plus, he knows when to spam and abuse his Mystic artes and overlimits.
I also want to punch whoever did his lines as well.
[spoilers]Kratos does NOT say, "Hee Hee Hee", hologram or not. [/spoilers]

Yeah, if they meant the voice to be the Traitor to Heaven they really screwed up his lines. A simple "heh" would have been way more effective.
But I do agree with you about Lloyd. He seems a bit hypocritical considering how many people he killed throughout the course of the game.

Not to mention he let it be known many, many times that he hates Desians, which are half-elves, so even though he says he's not discriminating against them, he actually is, but chooses to be ignorant about it.

I never thought of that, but it's true. And while I do think the Desians were wrong in what they were doing, I can't help but feel bad for them overall. Lloyd is just: "HEY, GUYS! STOP KILLING PEOPLE WHAT YOU'RE DOING IS WRONG!" *Stabs a Desian* Even though it's not really stated overall (or I missed it since it's been a while since I played), half-elves in Sylvarant must be treated pretty poorly if Genis and Raine lied about their race. Becoming a Desian was probably one of the few ways they could actually be treated like they weren't dirt.

Or they could've made their own community hidden somewhere like the regular elves and live out a hopefully peaceful life.
I'm fighting Yager again. I hate his secret mission so goddamn much. Just breaking him is bad enough, but to time it just right with that specific attack is murder.

So.
There's a screenshot of Tales of Grace's floating around that credits the Namco Bandai localization team, including one member that worked on several other Tales games. There's also an English version of the intro theme on one of the CDs.
Possible localization?

I dunno I don't think Lloyd was hypocritical. For pretty much every instance in ToS the Desians struck first, not to mention having bad things happen to you doesn't justify the human ranches. Keep in mind I'm not speaking from any knowledge of DotNW as far as I'm concerned it didn't exist.
Anyways, I certainly hope you're right about localization. I'm already pissed that the ToV port isn't getting localized because I've been waiting for that to happen so i can play it. Currently contemplating importing. The series is really underappreciated in the US, and i think sales from ToA and ToS at least show it has a decent foothold here.

Keep in mind I'm not speaking from any knowledge of DotNW as far as I'm concerned it didn't exist. I do agree that the Desians were definitely in the wrong most of the time, but I do wish Lloyd at least acknowledged that they did have some reason for what they were doing. It's been a while since I played, but during the whole game Lloyd seemed so...simple, I guess? And DotNW wasn't that bad. It definitely could have used some polishing, but I liked pretty much all of the new characters better because I found it a lot easier to sympathize with them. The only thing that really bugged me was Lloyd because he still faced no consequences for his actions. Thanks to him the weather was completely changed and the people of Sylvarant are the new oppressed group. I still like him in the first ToS, but in DotNW...eh. The other characters are way better. ToA did pretty bad, I think, but Tales of Vesperia and DotNW sold decently. It's just so hard for it to get a decent following since even the fans are getting tired of so many games being skipped. I'll probably import ToV, too, once there's a price drop. Tales of Rebirth is pretty cheap now, so I'll probably get it next.

ToV is tales of Vesperia
Do you guys mean ToVs. for the Tales of Versus series?
I downloaded it onto my PSP. it's decent, but the graphics leave a lot to be desired, and the 4 vs 4 GP is a pain because not all characters are meant for that. It also reminds me of the Super Smash Bros series, or the Naruto Ultimate ninja series, etc.

I already own Tales of Versus, but the PS3 port of Tales of Vesperia probably isn't going to be coming out. That's the one that I'll probably be importing if there's a price drop.
And yeah, the characters are the biggest problem. Jade is not going to last against characters like Cless, Lloyd, etc. even though he does have other artes.
