Summer Vacation!

June 21st marks the first day of summer <3 SO what is everyones plans for summer vacation?

I have a week off from work in early August. I'm not going away, though. It's a stay-cation.
I'll go to the beach and swim and read and relax.

So far, with a one year old, I plan to stay home and loaf.

I've already taken a trip down to the LA area, but didn't do much, since the trip was a last minute decision by my mom, spurred by an invitation to my cousin's graduation. Pretty much all we did was go to Knott's Berry Farm, which in all honesty, kind of sucks now. In the ten years or so since my last visit, they've gotten rid of pretty much everything but the roller coasters and the stuff for little kids. Most of the in-between rides, like HeadAche and Kingdom of the Dinosaurs, are gone. The bumper cars totally suck now, because they have more on the floor at one time (in other words: less room to run around) and put weaker motors in them.

I did ride Jaguar for the first time though, which was fun. If you like smaller coasters, it's a good one.

The only other noteworthy thing I've done so far is watch the fireworks at The Nugget on the 4th. It was a great show, easily the biggest and longest I've ever seen, but getting there and back was a pain. I circled Victorian Square for about a half hour trying to find parking, before finding a garage. Then, when the show was over, there was a traffic jam in the garage, and I was stuck there for at least an hour. I started to listen to Fobbies are Borange on my iPod (which I had hooked up to the car's stereo). If I hadn't turned off the stereo to make sure the car's battery didn't die (I'm more careful with stuff like that after recently killing the battery by running the AC with the engine off for only a few minutes), or had a pair of earphones with me, I probably could have gotten through the entire first season.

Most of the rest of my time has been spent just loafing around, and getting ready for my move to Reno. My buddy and I are getting an awesome three bedroom place just off of Virginia, and we're gonna turn the extra room into an arcade. First thing we're gonna do is build a slot car track, (not sure about scale, there isn't really room for a 1/32 setup, so it'll probably be 1/64), and then we'll eventually put in a MAME machine or something.

I'll be sure to post some pics of our new digs.

The move will be around the end of this month, or the beginning of August, so I'll have a little time before I start school again. I'm gonna try to get a job, but we'll probably also take a trip to Tahoe, or maybe the waterpark.
