Magellan stepped of the boat. He quickly scanned his surroundings. Papers littered the ground and weeds grew everywhere. This was not his idea of a dream destination.
"Mineral Town must be somewhere here..." His spanish accent echoed throught the empty littered beach. "It must be up there..." He clutched his potato sack bag and walked up a flight of white stairs, into Mineral Town.
Magellan walked along the streets until he came to a big building.
"That must be an Inn??? Oh well..." As he pushed the doors open, people eating inside the inn looked at the newcomer. A smell of salty noodles filled the air.
"Who ordered the salty ones!?!" A girl stepped out from the kitchen and quickly spotted Magellan. "Oh!!! Welcome, May I help you?"
"I'll just stay here for about... a week???" Everybody went back to their dinners.
"Okay! Here's the key for Room 2. You'll find it upstairs. You can pay when you check-out." Magellan nodded.

"Excuse me." Magellan asked the girl at the counter. "Is this really Mineral Town???"
"Well, of course! Didn'tcha see the sign when you got off the boat? Can I get you breakfast? It's morning now."
"Thanks... Oh, I'll have some potatoes..." Magellan sat at a table far in the back. He studied his dog-eared travel book. It was a very old edition. He opened it to the blue post-it.
Come to Mineral Town!
Mineral Town is the best place to be all year round! With trees and plants growing in every inch of the place. Happy woodland creatures scurry and play about the forest. Move into Mineral Town!
Magellan stared at the pictures on the book. The streets were clean and filled with flowers. Birds flew in the background, all plump and healthy. Magellan stared out the window. The streets were filled with garbage and jam-packed with weeds. The birds picked at a rotten burger on the ground. This couldn't be Mineral Town.
"Potatoes for ehr... Maygillan???" The girl set the tray down. "Ah, I miss them old days when everything wuz growing. Flowers everywhere. Just after he disappeared everything went wrong..."
