What is with the random crap people give out? I mean, I understand that you might not be very far in the game and all you have is common stuff, and that's okay, but what is with the people who give out barn dirt, soil, roads, weeds, cans and snowballs? I'd rather get a dirt grasshopper than barn dirt.

Some people just don't feel like they need to provide, I suppose. Me, I stubbornly resist this by giving out something as rare as I can manage every time.

Yeah, I try and give out nice things too in the hopes that someone will be inspired and pay it forward. I mostly use wi-fi to get wool for the clothing requirements, so if I get a common item, it's not a big deal, but getting trash really annoys me.

Why on earth would anyone bother to give out trash?!
I don't own a 3DS yet, so I can't play, but I would at least offer something of some value, even if it was just a fish or foraged plant.

I have no idea. It's really rude. There's really nothing you can do about it though.

Some people are only in the trading system for themselves. They give out a trash item that they have no use for, take everything your animals have to provide for them, and leave the room before anyone with a shred of decency can get started.
It honestly makes me wish I could use the messaging system to talk to these "people."

I wish there was an angry emote. I try to communicate my displeasure by using the gesture one, but it doesn't really convey annoyance. :/
Bleh, last night I had a festival, so I decided to wi-fi a few times so I could get my animals done and still have time for the festival. I hosted a room and two girls joined me. Both of them were far enough along to have unlocked different outfits. (I think one of them even had one of the hairstyles that unlocks later in the game, but I'm not sure). One of them gave me a weed. #wut# (I was giving away 1* yam seeds, which isn't amazing, but if you're in year one, is very useful)

I try and give out things that are worth money like milks or eggs. I have on occasion just traded things that I found in the mountains though like honeycombs and such – I’d gotten a lot of barn dirt though or treats. .__.
I have gotten two silkie eggs (is that what they’re called?). I sold one and incubated the other. Recently I've been using the wifi to gather wool for storage since I haven't unlocked Yuri yet. D;

Honeycomb is useful though, especially if you're on Renovation Plan Two in Summer. That happened to me D:

I know I had a terrible time getting the restaurant because I didn't have bricks - all the ones I did find I sold without thinking that I would need them later. D:

Nah, copper is fine. It's only the literal trash items that tick me off.

Still don't get why people offer barn dirt and weeds. Must all be related Neil.

lol
I've been playing ANB again and doing wifi trades. I'm giving away good stuff (five star seeds/seedlings), so I'm hoping to bring a smile to someone's face. I'm getting decent stuff, but I noticed that no one was brushing animals? Some of my animals were stressed, so it would've been great if they could have gotten extra attention.
I remember reading somewhere that whoever creates the room should be the last to leave, otherwise any brushing that others give your animal doesn't count? Or something along those lines. Not sure if it's true, but whenever I create the room, I always wait (unless one of the others stays still for a really long time)

I must remember that, I'm not sure if I brush or not. I think I try to treat all the animals to as if they were mine, but it's been a while since I was on.
