Whoo, good reviews make Skeep happy! Happy like bandanas on a hippo! ..don't ask xD
Chapter Six: Silent Screams[/u]
As Gwen was running back, the rain started going a little harder. Her eyes turned to the sky, a bit wary of another hurricane. The sky showed no threat though, and she looked back at the ground. Her tears had stopped falling, but inside she was screaming. How could her family leave her like that? They never said goodbye, didn't even tell her why they left! She couldn't have been that horrible, could she? The incident had happened a year ago, and after six months, she finally got over the problem. That was when she moved to Flower Bud Village. Now things were coming back to her.
Gwen wanted so badly to turn and run. Run away from her friends, from her uncle, from these people, from the village, from the world. She wanted to run from her problems. But what good had that done her last time? She just ended somewhere else, mourning about the same problems. What was worth it any more? "What did I do?!" She screamed, falling to her knees. Burying her head in her hands, she sobbed.
Suddenly she felt something soft against her cheek. It wasn't like a fabric soft, or someone's hand soft. It wasn't just soft either. It was... wet? "WHAT THE HECK?!" She screamed, turning and glaring at whoever was licking her. If it was a guy, she would wring their neck. Gwen's glare was met with two dark, sad eyes. "Lucana." She whispered. Standing next to her was a grey husky with dark blue eyes. A dark blue bandana was around her neck. It was Jamie's dog. The dog that growled at everyone who got within fifteen feet of Jamie's farm. The dog Jamie sent after her little squirrel friend, almost taking it's life. What had caused such a hateful dog to show compassion as she sobbed.
Truthfully, Gwen was aching for Dan to come to her rescue. But no, here was this dog. Her hand reached up and she hesitantly stroked the husky's head. The soaking dog licked her again, curling up against her. "You're cold." She whispered, petting Lucana again. She had to get her home, or the dog would get sick. Forgetting her own grief, Gwen picked up the husky, who was unusually light, though it was smaller than a normal husky, and started off to Jamie's farm. When she reached the farm, Gwen stopped suddenly. All of the plants were cut, the door to Lucana's dog house was boarded up, and the lights were off. Gwen checked the barns after putting Lucana down and saw that all the animals were gone. "Jamie left." She whispered, running outside.
Gwen started screaming inside once more. Another person had left without any note or goodbye. Gwen never truly got to know Jamie, and didn't feel like knowing him, but just the thought that no one bothered to say goodbye any more caused her more grief. Her eyes glanced down to the dog who was looking up at Gwen sadly. "You don't have a home. He left you. Probably without a goodbye." She whispered hoarsly, her voice only to be heard by the dog because the wind carried it to her. Finally, someone understood her pain. Gwen curled up with Lucana in her arms and fell asleep in the rain, not caring what happened. As her soul screamed, she could feel Lucana's screaming too.

Truthfully.. I'm still working on that xD but I thought it would be cool if he left.. cause he was getting on my nerves in the game XD I can only take so much of, 'Leave me alone.' But I think I have a good idea.
Chapter Seven: Waking Up[/u]
Gwen's eyes fluttered open and she looked at her pillow. Wait.. that wasn't her pillow. Wait a minute.. didn't I fall asleep outside.. with-- Gwen thought, then she suddenly realized she had something laying on her. She looked down to see a husky curled up, half next to her and a little bit on her stomach. Lucana. She said, finishing her thought. Gwen looked around to see that she was in a room that was basically white, with white curtains surrounding her. "Wtf?" She said, mindlessly petting the husky while trying to figure out where she was. Gwen suddenly had a longing to be back out in the rain. Judging by the sun streaming in through the window, it stopped long ago.
Someone walked in her room. Gwen looked up to see it was a man in a white jacket. "Hey Alex." Gwen said weakly. The doctor walked over and put a hand on her forehead. "Hey Gwen. I got stuck in the rain and while coming back, I saw you curled up with Jamie's dog. At first I thought she attacked you, but then I saw otherwise. I carried you over here, and she trailed behind, refusing to stay outside. She's been curled up on your bed ever since. Martha couldn't even coax her with treats." Alex explained, laughing a little. Martha hadn't actually had treats, but she made some bread hoping the dog would like it. That was the only thing she had the ingredients to make.
Gwen nodded and was silent for a moment. She ruffled up some of the hair on Lucana's head. "Alex.. Jamie left." She said, looking down at Lucana. She winced as she heard Alex try and stifle a gasp. Jamie was what kept this town together. Yes, he barely talked to anyone, but his farm was what kept us still able to function. Gwen and Alex both knew that Zoey was their only hope now, and she had just started a couple of months ago. "Am I well enough to go help Z with things?" Gwen asked Alex. The doctor was about to reply when Martha walked in. "Most certainly not." She said, her eyebrows furrowing down. "You've got a fever, and it doesn't help that Lucana, that wet dog, won't get off of you. She's probably giving you the chills." Martha complained.
Gwen attempted to smile at the old lady, but couldn't. Alex noticed her discomfort and shooed Martha away. "Don't mind her. You should be better by tomorrow." He said comfortingly, grabbing a thermometer. "Hey, wait a minute." Gwen said, frowning at Alex. Gwen hated being treated by doctors. Even a simple thermometer made her edgey. She couldn't explain why she didn't like it, but she refused to let him do anything. "I can take my own temperature." She said, closing her mouth tight so he couldn't get it in. "Come on, Gwen." Alex whined poking her mouth with the thermometer. The two barely knew each other, but they joked around whenever they did talk. Gwen crossed her arms and shook her head.
Before Alex could make any move to get Gwen to take the thermometer, Martha burst into the room. "Doctor, Zoey's here with a bad axe wound."

Heheh xD Martha.. I think she's special. You'll see what I mean. And explination for ending will come in next chapter o=
Chapter Eight: Confusion[/u]
Gwen's eyes widened with fear. Zoey was one of her first friends here, and though they weren't like best friends, Gwen still didn't want anything to happen to her. "WHAT?!" She screamed, throwing her hands at her sides, almost knocking Lucana off of her. Alex glanced at Gwen worridly. What happened to Zoey? "I'll be back." He whispered, trying to stay confident, but couldn't. Could their last chance of self-sufficiency be going? Not only was she their last hope at non-imported foods, but she was a great friend to all. The doctor rushed out of the room to the waiting Martha and Zoey.
Gwen combed her hair with her fingers as she waited for something. Even a gasp of horror from Alex would atleast give her something. Her hand was petting Lucana much faster than she even knew she was doing. The dog licked her hand, then rest her head back down on Gwen's stomach. Finally Gwen got what she was waiting for. It was Alex's voice, yelling, but it had a mix of pure annoyance but relief in it.
"MARTHA!" Alex shouted, clenching a fist at his side. "Martha.. This is clearly nothing to worry about." He said, taking a look at Zoey's leg. Zoey was sitting in a chair in the lobby with her arms crossed. "That's what I told her." She said, though she gave the old lady a compassionate glance. Martha had a way of over reacting, and now was definitely one time. Zoey had been chopping some wood when she put down her axe and sat on the stump that was left of the tree. Her axe had been a little too close and she got a small cut. Martha had been walking by and instantly dragged her off to the clinic.
Gwen couldn't stand it any more. "WHAT?!" She screamed, wanting someone to come in and tell her what happened. Though Martha tried to stop her, Zoey stood up and walked over to where Gwen was. "Heya." She said, waving and walking to her. She stopped a couple of feet away, glancing at Lucana. The husky started growling at Zoey as she tried to get closer to Gwen. "Stop that." Gwen whispered, poking Lucana in the cheek. The husky stopped, but still kept a wary eye on Zoey. "Sorry for the scare." Zoey said, looking Gwen over. "Run into another tree?" She asked jokingly. Gwen crossed her arms and glared at her, but she smiled. "Fell asleep out in the rain. Alex says I can leave in the morning." Gwen explained.
Before Zoey could reply, Gwen started up. "Z, Jamie left. The farming's up to you." She blurted out. Zoey stood there in shock, realizing why Lucana was now curled up with Gwen. "Gwen.. my stuff is packed.. to leave." She whispered.

Chapter Nine: We Can Dance?
"You're.. you're leaving..?" Gwen asked, her voice barely coming out of her mouth. Her eyes were wide with shock. "You're leaving me too?!" She half-screamed, jumping up out of the bed, knocking Lucana to the floor. "Gwen!" Gwen heard Zoey shout as she ran off. She thought she also heard Alex screaming her name, and Martha was probably spazzing about how she was still sick, but she didn't care. Lucana was right behind her, quickly catching up. The two ran up the mountain towards the lake. It was the only place Gwen knew was safe any more. Safe from pain, safe from everything.
Gwen curled up on the ground right where the water met the land. She put out her hand and let the water wash over her finger tips. Tears clouded her vision as she thought. Zoey was leaving too? How could she do this to her? What reason did she have to leave? And not only was Zoey leaving, but that meant Chica had to leave too! Was the world out to get her?! Gwen asked all these questions, screaming them in her mind. Lucana curled up next to her and whimpered softly. Before any more thoughts flooded Gwen's mind, she thought of how much Lucana had changed. Then everything came back, hitting her like a hammer. Gwen was about to let out a sob when she heard.. singing?
"We can dance if we want to We can leave your friends behind Cause your friends dont dance And if they dont dance Well they're no friends of mine Say, we can go where we want to A place where they will never find And we can act like we come from out of this world Because you're one far behind We can dance We can dance!"
She heard, and whiping her eyes, Gwen looked around to see three little midgets dancing around the stone statue. "WTF MATE!" She screamed, jumping back. Lucana started growling. The little midgets stopped singing and stared at Gwen. Gwen clung to Lucana, thinking she was going insane. The three little midgets ran behind the statue. One little yellow one peaked out from behind her stone dress and his eyes popped wide open. "IT'S A TAXODERMIST!"

xD -is in a writing mood- O, and if I get the harvest sprites wrong, sorreh D= I'll fix them if corrected x3
Chapter Ten: They /Can/ Dance
Gwen was so confused, not knowing what a taxodermist was. "What the--?" She said, Lucana barking as she said the last word. "What's a taxodermist?!" She asked, grabbing her head with her hands, feeling like she was going insane. Her head throbbed as she accidentally grabbed the bruised part too hard, causing her to cry out in pain. "Maybe.. maybe she's half.. big ol' G-raffe!" One in a blue suit said. Glancing up with a crazed look, Gwen stared at the little midget. "WHAT?!" She screamed. Though she was screaming, the little guys decided she was safe and walked out towards her. Now the only thing separating them was the pond itself.
"I'm Billy! This is Carlos, and that's Aurthur!" The blue one said. Gwen sat back, one eyebrow raised. "And we'reeee..." The red one started, before the yellow one cut in. "THE POWERPUFF GIRLS!" The yellow one, Carlos, said. Gwen's eyes popped open. She had to be dreaming. She was probably still in the hospital right now. Yeah, that's it. She's dreaming. At least, hallucinating. The three little guys started to get into an arguement. "We are not the power puff girls!" The red one squeaked. "Yeah, but you were gonna say the harvest sprites. That is SOOO boring." The yellow one fought back. The blue one just ignored them and jumped on a lilly pad, floating over to Gwen.
Lucana growled, but Gwen put a hand on the dog's head to shut her up. Wait, Lucana was there. That meant she couldn't be hallucinating these things. She tried hard to stifle a groan. "We're the harvest sprites. That's the Goddess. She's stuck in that stone, and we need music to get her out." The blue one explained. "I'm Billy." He said happily. Gwen nodded, silent. She couldn't even swallow. "I'm Gwen." She finally got out. "Dance with us!" Billy said, grabbing her hand and attempting to pull her towards the center so she could dance. It would've worked, but only if he was more than the size of the bottom half of her leg.
Gwen stood up and numbly followed Billy to the center of the pond, where the statue and the still-bickering two harvest sprites were. "Dance!" Carlos instructed, starting to dance around the statue of this 'Goddess' once more. He started singing the song once more, and the other two joined in. Gwen stood there, listening to the words. "You can leave your friends behind.." She mumbled one of the lines. Maybe this was to be her escape from what was going on. These little power pu-- Harvest Sprites. "That's right!" She heard Aurthur encourage her. Gwen grinned and started going around the harvest sprite with them. She would let go of her pride for now. First Gwen started walking, then dancing, then she even started singing with the harvest sprites. She soon even invited Lucana over to prance around.
Gwen was laughing as she went around the stone statue, but suddenly she heard something that caused her bones to chill. It was something that was familiar to her, hearing it in the air or in her mind. A voice she often wished she heard telling her that he cared about her. But right now, she wished he hadn't been any where near her. Dan was there. "....Gwen?!"

Chapter Onety-one: Zoey's Part
Zoey ran out of the clinic, calling out to Gwen. "Why did I have to say that?" She mumbled to herself. She turned to the doctor, who looked like he was about to run after Gwen. "I'll go get her, stay here." She instructed, running off towards Gwen. She was heading up to the mountains. Zoey was about to make the first turn onto the mountain path when someone stepped out and grabbed her hand. "Why's that chick upset?" Dan asked, pointing up to the dust still unsettled where Gwen had just run. Zoey sighed and put her hand to her head. She took out both ponytails and let her hair rest on her shoulders, shaking her head in frustration. "I'm leaving.. and it made Gwen upset." Zoey explained.
"Leaving?" Dan asked, his eyes widening. Zoey had been the one to convince him not to leave a couple of months ago. Was he going to have to do that for Zoey now? The girl nodded sadly. "Let's face it. I'm a horrible farmer, and the village was fine before I came.." She mumbled, turning her head to look in the direction of her farm. It was now the third season she had been there, and she had been doing terribly. Zoey had just planted her first crops since she moved there, and her cow /just/ got old enough to milk. It was terrible. "Plus.. I got offered a job back in my home town." Zoey said, finishing up. Dan looked her over, shaking his head. "This village needs you, and you're not a horrible farmer. This is your first time. But.. this town loves you. You wanna give that up for.. some new, most likely boring, job?" Dan asked, still not letting go of her hand.
Zoey sighed once more. "Dan, who here likes me? Genuinely likes me. I know Gwen's upset, but she can get over me. I'm just another villager here." The girl said sadly. She suddenly remembered that her friend was still running up to the mountain, but she couldn't pull away from talking with Dan at the moment. "I like you." Dan whispered, putting his other hand over hers. "And to prove it.. Zoey, will you go out with me?"
Zoey stood there, silent because she knew she would studder. Yeah, Dan was the guy she knew best in this village, but she never thought he would think of her like that. She felt her cheeks flush. Finally mustering up her confidence, she spoke. "I'd like that very much, Dan." Zoey said, smiling. Dan gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. "Seven, at the square, k?" He said, winking. Zoey smiled and nodded. "Maybe I can stay.." She whispered. "But I have to.." Zoey said, looking towards the mountain path. "I'll go get her." She heard Dan say. Turning back to him, Zoey nodded. "See you at the square." She said, squeezing his hand. Maybe more people cared for her than she thought.
Zoey turned as Dan went up to follow Gwen. A boyfriend. Something she hadn't had since.. well, it had been a couple of years. Her last boyfriend had been more of a crush, and they didn't do much. Would Dan and her turn out to be more? "That's getting ahead of myself." She told herself, shaking her head. Relieved someone was going up for Gwen and happy that Dan had just asked her out, Zoey put her hair back up in her pigtails. A grin appeared on her face as she started skipping off towards the path leading to her farm.

Explination of Onety-one Why isn't 11 onety one instead of eleven? Where did the word eleven even come from? No teachers at my school could answer my question, but a senior suggested that I work really hard to make it a word, and who knows, maybe one day it will show up in a dictionary. Spread the love, say onety-one ;D
