Here are a couple more chapters to make up the days I will be gone.
Chapter Ten: Elli and the Doctor"Are you awake?" I could hear the doctor say from above me. I blinked, and then realized I was in the clinic. I sat up and began to feel dizzy again.
"Lay back down." Cliff demanded from across the room. I glared at him, and got out of bed. "I said lay back down."
"I'm fine, Cliff. Stop being so over protective." I rolled my eyes and started to walk across the room when I tripped. Cliff which was standing nearby caught me. "Let go!" I yelled at him, as he forced me over to the bed. Obviously I had become more sassy with him, the more I liked him. Weird huh?
"You need to rest." he said sternly. I stuck my tongue out and laid down. He walked back over to the other side of the room and leaned against the wall.
"Well, you will be fine. Just rest for now okay?" the Doctor said, making his way out of them room. I stuck my tongue out at him too, and Cliff rolled his eyes. I could hear the Doctor calling Elli over to him in the other room and then I heard some whispers.
"OF COURSE I WILL MARRY YOU!" she squealed. I quickly got out of bed and ran out into the other oom to observe the seen, Cliff trailing behind me. He pulled her to him for a long, long, long...long...will they ever stop kissing?
I started to fell dizzy once again, and then fell over, but Cliff caught me. This time though, the weird angle of my body, it put our two faces near each other, and our lips locked. I could see the Doctor and Elli stop their kissing, to watch us. I broke away quickly and ran over to the bed.
"Doctor! I have another head-ache, and you better make it go away!" I yelled. I didn't want to think about, or talk about what had just happened, even though it may have been the best expirience of my life. I fell onto the bed, and the Doctor rushed in. Cliff knew what I was trying to do, and leaned up against the wall again.
Does he know I like him? Does he? Huh? Huh? HUH? That's all that was running through my head.
I fell asleep once the Doctor was done, taking care of the head-ache. Cliff had sat in the chair across the room last time I glanced at him.
I woke up to find Cliff standing over me. He sighed and then sat at the edge of my bed. "Feeling any better? Doc said you could go home."
"Yeah, I'm feeling better." I replied happily. Something gleaming on his neck caught my eye, and I looked to see what it was. "Oh, my, God." I breathed, as I gazed at the golden locket.
Chapter Eleven: *Sorry the title I used would have given it away*
I brung my hand up slowly and rested it on his cheek. "It's you." I said shakily. His stare was blank at first, and he didn't get what I was saying. "My mother, my friend, the locket..." I babbled on. He suddenly knew what I was trying to say.
"Are you the one who gave this to me?" he asked confusedly. I nodded and he embraced me. "Oh my God, Shelly it was you! I'm so happy to see you again!" I started to cry, at all the memories we shared. We let go of each other and looked into each other's eyes.
"I've been waiting to do this for a long, long time." he sighed. He then pulled me closer and our lips locked again. This time it was a pure and sweet kiss, definatly not an accident. When we broke apart I smiled at him, but was to dazed enough to do anything else other than pull him closer for another kiss.
Doc stepped into the room and cleared his throat. Cliff and I kept on kissing. He cleared his throat a little louder the next time, but Cliff and I ignored him. This time it was almost louder than a scream. Cliff and I looked over at him impatiently, and waiting for him to say something.
"She can go home." Doc said. "That is all." he then walked out leaving us alone again. We didn't continue kissing, but he pulled me to my feet and lifted me into his arms.
"Ready to go home?" he asked happily. I smiled at him and kissed his cheek gently. "More than ever." I responded. I laid my head on his shoulder and he walked slowly, letting me enjoy the view of the flowers. Rick soon met up with us near the blacksmith shop.
"Oh, great." Cliff mumbled. I stuck my tongue out at Rick and his mouth dropped open. "Hey Rick, watch this." I said excitedly. I leaned up toawrds Cliff and he stopped so we could enjoy another kiss. I could hear Rick grunt in anger, and then he walked away.
"Doesn't look like I will have to worry about him anymore." I sighed as Cliff continued to carry me home. I smiled and thought of the first day we met. What a wonderful day. Not as wonderful as this one though.
Chapter Twelve: Forming Couples"Cliffie! All the work is done, let's go get a drink!" I yelled across the field at him. He came over and took my hand in his, and we started towards the bar.
"Now, I don't want you getting drunk again." Cliff exclaimed. "I don't want you lip locking with...Rick. Last time I had to pull you off of him."
"I promise I won't lip lock with Rick." I giggled. We walked a little further and came to the bar. When we came through the doors we found Gray, Rick, Karen, and Mary all sitting at a table together.
"Hey, Karen." I greeted when we joined the table. She smiled at me and continued her conversation with Mary. Once she was finished she spun around to face me.
"Did you hear?" Karen whispered. I tilted my head in question. "Rick and I are going out." My mouth dropped open in shock, and I couldn't think of anything to say other than, "Congratulations."
"We all know about you and Cliff. That relationship has been building for a long time. Couldn't you tell?" Mary whispered over to me. I smiled and glanced at Cliff which was chattering away with Rick and Gray. I started to listen at their conversation.
"Did you know my favorite color is blue?" Rick would tell Gray. Gray's face lit up and he smiled. "Reminds you of blue feathers doesn't it?" Rick asked. All the men laughed nervously and looked over at us. Cliff was blushing, Gray was pale, and Rick was just smiling. Karen, Mary, and I got up and went to a table across the room.
"Shelly, I think Cliff might propose to you soon." Mary said, loud enough for the whole room to hear. Everyone stopped and stared at me. I slid down in my seat, hoping people would stop staring but they didn't. I could see Cliff slowly slide down in his seat too, blushing a deep pink. "Sorry." Mary said.
"I heard you and Gray were going out." Karen said to Mary. I smiled, slid back up, and immediately jumped into the conversation.
"Elli and Tim are getting married!" I blurted out in the middle of the conversation. Karen and Mary looked at me and started asking all kinds of questions. Karen then bowed her head and went into the girls bathroom. Mary and I followed her to find her crying inside a stall.
"What's wrong?" I said, patting her on the back. Karen shook her head and kept crying.
"I...I'm pregnant." she blurted out. Mary's mouth fell open, and I didn't know what to do.
"It's okay. You and Rick will get married soon, I bet." I tried to make her stop crying but it only get worse. She then cried, "It's not Rick's baby! It's Kai's!" As much sympathy I felt for my best friend, I also knew it was partially her fault.
Once the little scene with Karen was over, I met up with Cliff outside the Inn. He took my hand, and we started to walk home. I didn't speak the whole way there, and once we got home I didn't say anything either.
"What's wrong, Sweetie?" Cliff asked, once I sat down at the table. He took a seat across from me and I started to tell the story.
"Karen is pregnant, Cliff. Her and Rick will probably get married soon but it's not his baby. It's Kai's." I concluded. I looked over at him and from his blank expression, he didn't know what to say.
"Oh, man...Rick is going to go mad." Cliff finally said. I noded, and went over and crawled in bed, to tired to even put pajamas on. Cliff came over and sat on the edge of my bed. "Hopefully it will all work out. Good-night, Sweetie." We kissed and then he turned out the light.
