Everyone, I will be gone the next week to visit a friend in Ohio, so the story won't be updated in a while.
For now, Chapter 10.

Chapter 10- The Ugly Door is opened

Ch 10- The Ugly Door is Opened
Thorn wrapped her arms around her knees and stared at the ground. Her beautiful blonde hair now looked mangled and dirty as it draped over her distressed face.
Rick refused to move. His nose itched and his legs ached, but he wouldn't allow himself to disturb this moment. He would let Thorn take every second in time until she felt comfortable with telling him her past.
Thorn took a deep breath before letting out a sigh. Finally, the words escaped her lips.
"When my mom married my father, it was the worst mistake of her life." Thorn stated strongly through a whisper. "She saw him as the most loving, gentle man she had ever met, but she slowly learned what he was really like once she became pregnant with me." Tears formed once more in her eyes.
"Thorn." Rick remarked. "If this is too painful for you, you don't have to tell me..."
"No." she interrupted. "I think...I know you should know this." Rick hesitated to this. He didn't want Thorn hurting herself mentally, but if she felt she had no choice, he would let her go on. With a nodd from Rick, she continued.
"My father started drinking once my mother found out about the baby. In his drunk state of mind, he would abuse her physically and mentally, I'm still suprised to this day that I'm alive. Often he would go out with his friends to stripping bars and leave my helpless mother to lonliness." Thorn paused to wipe away a tear but continued. "She was a fool so in love though, she refused to let go. The day I was born she cried tears of joy and sorrow- she didn't want such an innocent baby stuck in the same world of abuse she was in...."
Rick scooted closer to Thorn; hoping she wouldn't just scoot farther away. She seemed to lost in thought to notice.
"Soon after I turned four, my father became addicted to coke. When he was drugged, he would have no idea what was going on and usually abused both my mother and me. My mom couldn't take it any longer, she woke me up one night and we ran away from that chaotic place we called, "home". We started new lives with new identies and nothing but the clothes on our back- secretly though she would still call me Rose. "You're beautiful and always stand strong, even though the thorns try to choke you." Thorn took another deep breath. "My dad, he eventually tracked ups down and dragged us home. Everything seemed calm at first...but then...that night...that terrible, terrible night..."
"Thorn?" Rick whispered softly. "What happened?"
Thorn raised her somber head so that Rick could see her cold, lifeless eyes.
"A nightmare that haunts me until this day"

It was such a good chapter! I hope you write more reeeeeeeeeeally soon!
