A/N~ Hi everyone! This is my second fanfic, my first one was The Broken Hearts, So Please tell me what you think of this one! ;D (If I don''t get at least Two comments by next week, I'll delete this Fan fic )Prologue On a dark spring night in Mineral town, two small girls ran down the road, following a strange sound. One girl tried to pull away from the other. “Karen, where are we going?!” she asked angrily. “I heard it over here!” Karen replied. The girl stared at Karen. She had red braided hair, and she was in pajamas. Karen had dirty blonde hair, and was wearing a blue jacket over her nightgown. Karen looked back at the red headed girl. “Come on!” Karen said pulling the other girl. “No! What if it’s dangerous?” The girl asked scaredly. Karen rolled her eyes and started pulling the girl again. Eventually, the sound got closer, and the girls could tell that it was someone crying. A loud sob made the girls scream and run off. In a small house, two other girls sat by a fire, side by side. One girl with glasses stared into the fire place, something burning in her eyes. The other girl, a short brown haired girl with a blue dress on, was falling asleep on the floor. As the girl with glasses took a tiny sip of her hot chocolate, she also felt her eyelids become heavy and slowly drifted off to sleep next to the brown haired girl. Suddenly, the door burst open to show three girls standing in the doorway. Everyone screamed, and then covered their mouths at the thought that it was very late at night, and they had probably waken up the whole town. Karen was one of the girls in the doorway. “Elli! Mary! We have to show you something!” she whispered. Elli and Mary exchanged glances, and then followed the other three girls outside, quietly closing the door behind them. Halfway down the road, the brown haired girl, whose name was Elli, whispered, “Where are we going?” no one responded because no one really knew. Suddenly Karen stopped. “Listen!” she said to the other girls. They were all very quiet, and then they heard the sound of a child whimpering. All the girls gasped, and exchanged glances. Karen stepped forward. “Karen!” a girl whispered loudly. The girl had pink hair and was looking worriedly at Karen. “Be careful!” she warned. Karen laughed. “What’s gonna happen Popuri?” the young girl giggled. She took a few more steps forward, and then crouched behind a fence, out of the other girls’ view. Karen looked around and heard another cry. “Hello?” she called. A young boy, about Karen’s age, crawled out from behind a bush. “W-who are y-you?” he stuttered. Karen smiled. “I’m Karen. How come you’re crying?” she asked. The boy sniffed, trying to hide his tears, but then crying harder. “I’m l-l-lost!” he sobbed. Karen looked at him sadly. “I lost my mommy and Daddy!” he cried. Suddenly, a light went on. An old man who ran the farm they were at, walked out of his house, carrying a flashlight “Hello?” he called. Karen spotted a phone number on the boy’s rucksack. “That guy has a phone! You can call your parents!” she said nodding towards, the old man. The boy sniffed. “O-ok.” he said sadly. She smiled at him, and started getting up. Then the boy asked: “Will I see you again?” Karen nodded happily.

A/N~ I'm glad people like it! Here is the next chapter! By the way, Happy Memorial Weekend! ;D
Chapter One: The New Guy
Karen rubbed her eyes sleepily. The morning sun shined through her window. She got dressed and walked into the kitchen. Her parents were sitting at the table eating some scrambled eggs. Her mother, Sasha, smiled when Karen sat down. "Good morning Dear! It's a beautiful morning isn't it?" she said cheerfully. Karen replied with a tired grunt and reached for some eggs. "So, I hear the new boy is coming to run the farm today." said Sasha. Karen looked up. "Theres someone coming to run the farm? Who?" she asked. Sasha shrugged. "I'm not sure. I heard the Old man who used to run the farm never had any family." Karen blinked remembering the boy she had met so very long ago... What had his name been? It was so many years ago, Karen felt like she'd never remember...
Karen walked down the street. She was daydreaming, when she suddenly tripped over something. She got up and looked around. She had walked right into a farm and tripped over a weed! Just then, someone walked out of the small house in the corner. He ran over to Karen, and helped her up. "Are you OK?" he asked. Karen looked at his face. He had brown hair and bangs that covered his face. He had blue eyes, and he was wearing a blue hat. Karen stared longingly at his warm smile when he interrupted her thoughts and asked again: "Are you OK?" Karen blushed and nodded shyly. "I-I just tripped." she mumbled. Then she asked: "Are you the new boy who is going to run this farm?" He nodded. "I barely even knew the man who used to live here...I only met him once, and then we kept sending letters to each other,, and that was it..." he sighed. "But he was a nice man." Karen nodded. "Well, I have to get home soon...I'll see you later OK?" "Hey, wait!" he called. Karen turned around. "Um... I didn't get your name." he mumbled. Karen giggled. "I'm Karen." she told him. "And you are?" "Jack!" he said. "So, I'll see you around?" Karen nodded, and pointed up the road. "I live in the supermarket up there. Be sure to drop by sometime!" she said. Jack smiled and nodded. "See ya!"

A/N~ Hi! Here is the next chapter! Please enjoy and tell me what you think! Chapter two: MemoriesJack sat on his bed sadly. What was he gonna do? He didn't know anything about farming! He didn't have any cows, sheep, or chickens! He only had 500 gold, and he felt broke. He looked out the window. It was a beautiful spring day, and he wasn't outside to enjoy it. Why wasn't he? Was he afraid? Maybe... Jack sat down by the trunk in front of his bed. It had all his old pictures and things back from the city. He opened it up. He was looking for a specific picture...Was that it down there? Oh no! Jack swore angrily when he saw that his picture had been broken in half. It was a black and white old fashioned picture in a brown wooden picture frame. It was supposed to be a picture of him and that girl he had met so long ago...It must have been at least ten years! Even though he had forgotten her face and name, he still remembered... her. He looked down at the broken picture. There was only one side now, and it was the side that young Jack was on. Jack sighed. "What happened to that girl?"He wondered. Karen was bored. She had nothing to do except walk around Mineral Town, which was very boring when you had no one to talk to. Karen walked by the library. She decided to visit an old friend. Mary sat at her desk, scribbling something down in a red book. She was lost in her thoughts, when the library door opened. Mary gasped and shut her book. Who could it be? Karen walked in. "Hey Mary. What's goin' on?" she asked leaning on the desk. "Hi Karen..." Mary replied. Karen looked at Mary suspiciously. "What's that book?" she asked. Mary opened a desk drawer and said: "Nothing." Karen shrugged. "So, have you met the new boy who's running the farm now? His name is Jack..." Karen sighed. "What, do you like him or something?" Mary giggled. Karen blushed. "No! I barely even know him!" she said shyly. Then Karen looked over at Mary. "You know what we haven't done in a while?" she asked. "What?" Mary said raising an eyebrow, and eying Karen suspiciously. "Gone swimming!" Karen shouted happily. "Swimming? I can't! I have to stay here..." Mary mumbled. "Oh puh-lease! no one ever comes to the library- no offense of course- Here," Karen scribbled something down on a piece of paper and placed it in the door window. "C'mon! Let's go!" Karen had been right about swimming being fun. When she got back home, it was late and she was sopping wet. After she had taken a warm shower, she plopped down on her bed, and stared up at the white ceiling. She yawned. She could feel her eye lids become heavy. Karen rolled over in her bed and fell asleep. A five year old Karen sat at the dock, waiting for a ferry to depart. Just then, a boy ran up to her. "Karen! Karen!" he shouted. Karen suddenly turned around and smiled. "I thought you were gonna miss your ferry!" she said. The boy smiled , and then picked something out of his rucksack. "This is for you. It was a picture of her and the boy. Karen smiled. "Thank you..." she whispered, tears in her eyes. The boy got on the ferry and looked back at Karen. "I'll be back! I promise!" he shouted. "Don't forget!" Karen sat up in bed, panting. It was a dream...but she did forget...

A/N~ lol Yuo learned a word from my story? Kewl! Thanks for all the comments! Here is the next chapter! Enjoy! ;D Chapter three: Fireworks
Days in Mineral Town went by fast, and Karen savored every moment of them. Ever since her dream, she didn’t want to forget anything. It was strange caring about everything now, but Karen enjoyed it somehow...
Karen spent most of her time on Jack’s farm, following him around, and talking. Sometimes she would even help feed the animals. It was a lot of fun hanging out with Jack, and sometimes he reminded her of someone, but she never knew who. It was his laugh. It was adorable, and Karen loved it. It was filled with happiness, and that was what made Karen love it so much...
Spring rolled by fast, and soon enough, summer had arrived in Mineral Town, along with it, Kai, the beachside restaurant owner. But the things that Karen liked the most were the festivals. Especially the Fireworks. They were beautiful, and a boy always asked her to them. Last year it had been Rick, as it had been the year before that. Karen liked Rick, but only as a friend. She had been “friends” with him for years, and she wanted it to stay that way. Unfortunately, all the villagers, and Rick himself, expected them to go farther in their relationship. Karen knew that Rick would ask her out eventually, and she wasn’t sure what she would say when that happened. She was definitely ready for a relationship...just not with Rick...
Karen was heading over to Jack’s farm with some seeds he had asked her to get for him. She walked into the field, but Jack wasn’t there. She looked around, and then someone poked their head out of the barn. It was Jack. “Karen! Come here!” he said, motioning for her to come into the barn. Karen did as she was asked, and then gasped with joy at what she saw. A little baby calf was sitting with it’s mother in the barn. “It’s adorable!” Karen exclaimed. Jack nodded proudly. “She was just born this morning.” he said. Karen looked over at Jack. “I got those seeds you wanted.” she told him. Jack smiled. “Thanks a bunch!” he said gratefully. He took the seeds from her, and then reached in his pocket to get some money. “Oh! Jack you don’t need to pay!” Karen said. “But-“ he started. “It’s fine! Dad doesn’t even know I took them!” interrupted Karen. “A-are you sure?” he asked helplessly. Karen nodded. Jack blushed.
It was a few hours later when Jack walked over to Karen, who was playing with his puppy, Milo. He sat down next to her. “Hey, umm...Karen?” he asked nervously. Karen looked over at him, showing that he had her attention. “Well...the-umm-the fireworks-are well... You know... and I was- uhh wondering if you umm wanted to-“ Karen laughed playfully. “Of course I’ll go with you!” she said happily. Jack smiled with relief.
That night, Karen walked into the inn. She was in the mood for a drink. As she walked in, Rick walked up to her...
