Yeah, I admit, I'm disapointed she's not there either. That was a large part of why Crystal was my favorite Pokemon game for a long time. Even though you could be a girl in R/S/E and FR/LG it wasn't a shiny new feature anymore.

silver's new design is out. it's kinda lame. D: apparently mars must be his mother or something, cuz they totally have the same hairstyle now. pfft, no wonder she joined the crazies in team galactic. getting knocked up by the leader of a crime syndicate and having your kid run off on you'll do that to ya. also, kyogre, groudon, and rayquaza will be obtainable, as well as getting a special event with arceus and cynthia (see? mars being silver's mommy is not so far-fetched! actually, it's been proven (at least in mangaverse) that Silver's dad was Giovanni.

It's close to canon in the games, too. In FireRed/LeafGreen one of the Team Rocket members says that Giovanni's kid has red hair and he really hates Team Rocket.

I just heard the good news the other day, when I picked up another copy of Pearl. The guy that rang me up let me know.
It's been in the rumor mill for years, and there was a ton of evidence that this was gonna happen in D/P/P (like the whole "arrived from Johto" thing), it was only a matter of time before Nintendo confirmed it.
What I wanna know is: what the heck happened to Crystal? Was such a drastic redesign really necessary? Gold and Silver look pretty much the same, but she's totally different.
Wikipedia sez it'll be coming out in Japan at the end of this year, so we can probably expect the English version to be released in the first quarter of 2010.
I've been looking forward to this for a long time, but I don't think I'll have any trouble waiting. I'm still playing through my replacement copy of Pearl, and I haven't even touched Platinum yet (it came out after I lost my DS, and before I got a replacement), and there's a ton of other games I still have to replace and play through again.

Like I said, it won't be out in Japan until the end of the year, so I can't see an importer like Play Asia offering preorders just yet.
(EDIT: Scratch that. Wikipedia says that it'll be released in Japan in the second half of 2009, so it may be sooner than I initially expected. Still, this is Wikipedia we're talking about, and while I trust the site more than most, I admit that you never know how much merit anything written on there actually has. But I digress, Play Asia may be taking preorders soon after all.)
They better not screw us out of Kanto with this remake. With all of this new stuff they're adding, I can see the possibility of Nintendo leaving out the second half of the game, either out of laziness or being cheap (or both).

The new CoroCoro scans show the route that leads to Kanto in the map, so it will probably be in it. All Pokemon are able to follow you as well.
Also, pre-orders in Japan start July 4. The bonuses are a Lugia figure, Ho-oh figure, or an Arceus figure if you pre-order both. I hope we get them here like we got the Giratina figure for Platinum because Canada's pre-order bonus for Diamond and Pearl was awful.
(It was a really cheap DS case. The zippers bent if you opened it and the picture at the front rubs off easily.)

okay, it's just been confirmed eusine is going to be appearing in the game.
now there is NO excuse for crys not being the female lead. i could understand the fact that gold and silver were separate games from crystal, and therefore, they wanted a different girl, but if they are going to be including stuff from crystal, there is no reason why crys couldn't have been put in the game. <_<

With as little as we know about the game so far, there's still a chance they threw her in there somewhere as an NPC of some sort. It really doesn't make sense to me, though. They already had a perfectly suitable female hero character to work with, why not use her again? Heck, even the girl from FRLG was recycled from the original, in a sense. Picking the hero's gender was an option they wanted to include in the original Red and Blue, but they decided against it for some reason. Before canceling it, they drew up some concept images of her, which ended up being the basis for Blue/Green in Pokemon Special. |
