Chapter 18
As Ann walked home from that event, her mind was filled with questions. Heart's greatest desire? What WAS her heart's greatest desire? She had so many. And how could the Harvest Goddess know when she herself didn't? This whole thing was so confusing!
As she neared the Inn, a thought hit her. Maybe she'd try to see what her greatest desire was. She'd visit a few people... and see if anything was different.
Inside the Inn, Doug greeted his only child with a warm smile.
"Ann, hello! Time to get to work! The rooms upstairs are getting dusty!"
"Dad..." she hesitated. She had taken enough days off. And, he'd ask why. Could she tell him the Harvest Goddess visited her and granted her greatest desire? He'd think she was crazy.
"Dad, can I take the day off?"
He looked concerned. "Are you getting depressed again?"
She started to say no, but nodded instead. "Yeah. I think some more fresh air will do me good."
Her father nodded again, his eyes worried. She put on a cheery voice.
"Don't worry, Dad!"
His worried frown turned into a releived smile, convinced she was getting better. "OK, Ann. Have a great day off."
"Hmmm... who to go to first?" Ann wondered aloud. "One of the things I want most is..." She paused and stopped walking, thinking. Suddenly, her bright blue eyes lit up. "I know! I really really wanted to be better friends with Manna... maybe make her be happy, even without Aja." Ann nodded, a grin forming on her face. "And the Winery is so close!" She began walking again, taking strong strides. She knocked on the large wodden door, and waited patiently...

This is really CookieTin! I got locked out of my account...
I logged out, and when I tried logging in it said that the username was invalid! Then, I tried getting my pass. back, but it said my email address was invlid!
Please believe me! This is absolutely true! I'll try to get it fixed really soon, but untill then, I'll continue on with the Fanfiction.

This is really CookieTin! I got locked out of my account... I logged out, and when I tried logging in it said that the username was invalid! Then, I tried getting my pass. back, but it said my email address was invlid! Please believe me! This is absolutely true! I'll try to get it fixed really soon, but untill then, I'll continue on with the Fanfiction. It's true. Pineapple really is me! My computer had a HUGE glitch... so please don't send me on either account hate mail! From now on, I'll be on Pineapple, because this is on my dad's computer. When I got my new one, it messed up, and said CookieTin didn't exist  Sorry for the confusion!  |

Chapter 19
Ann straightened her bow in her long, red hair, waiting for Manna to answer the door. It was 10:45-- they should be open. When the door was swung open, Ann opened her mouth to speak.
"Hee-loooo pritty gurrl!" slurred a very drunk Duke. Ann, not expecting that, stood there, her mouth still open.
"Woould ooo like tah cum insiidde?" Duke slurred. Not waiting for an answer, he grabbed Ann's arm and dragged her inside. The house smelled of wine.
"Uh... where's Manna?" Ann timidly asked, pulling her arm away. Manna was not at the counter, nor was she outside.
"Mann-ah? Mann-ah? Oo is Mann-ah?" He stood there stupidly, untill his sunken eyes lit up. "Oh, yee-ah. Mann-ah. She ih' upstairrrz." Ann nodded and grinned widely.
"Thanks..." She turned and sprinted to the stairs.
"'Ey! Oo can't go up 'dere!" he roared drunkenly, running in a weird way to the stairs. Ann shrieked and sprinted up the steps. She slammed the door at the top of the stairs, looking around for a lock. After locking the door, she ignored Duke's howls of protest and tip-toed over to Manna's room. When she neared the door, she thought she heard quiet sobbing. As she opened the door gently, Ann saw Manna sprawled on the bed, head buried in a pillow.
"Manna?" she softly asked, walking over. Manna didn't even glance up, but continued weeping.
"Are you all right? What did Duke do to you?" Ann wondered aloud. As she neared the bed, she saw many wine bottles peeping out from underneath the bed.
"Manna?" she asked again. As Ann got even closer to Manna, she saw that Manna had many cuts and scrapes on her arms and legs. Her dress was cut in many places, and her hair was jagged.
"What did Duke do?" Ann asked in horror.
